I just looked up some benchmarks in game on the card and only found a very low quality review from hitech legion that did not compare it to the 960. Though I assume the ftw should be clocked higher than the ssc and the ssc gets close to the stock 960 by only a few frames per second in almost every game. The only thing is I feel if the FTW is over the $170 the 950 ssc is, you are treading into the 960. The only thing that the 950 will win in is power consumption for oem system upgrades that do not have aux power for pci express. I would bet the ftw has aux power though for overclocking potential. I would love to see a good review on the FTW and some overclocking numbers and benchmark results. It looks like the 950 SSC is averaging about 1500+ in overclocks.

Edit: I see the pricing of the 950 ftw at $180 and all the 950's need aux power. I feel that the 960 is a better value and the 950 does not really have a place given the power targets are about the same so heat will be very close. Spending just a little more gets you a better card. I do not want to comment as a blanket statement for peoples socioeconomic situations but I would assume that in most cases people would be able to and will spend $30 to $40 more on a better card if they were informed. You can get 02G-P4-2966-KR on newegg (the 960 super sc) for $175 after rebate and $195 before. This makes the 950 seem like an illogical choice given price to performance. I just do not see what the point of the 950 is in this case, it is priced too high for what it does.

I don't believe those overclocking numbers one bit. Everyone bragged about the 680 easily overclocking to +150 on the core clock at launch and I never got a board higher than +110 stable in benchmarks and +100 for gaming.

One of the cards I had was doing over 1600MHz :o 950 overclocks quite well.

Going to give it a look tonight. Considering using the step-up program for the 750ti in my wife's system. She currently runs WoW (her game of choice) at 1440p (Apple Cinema Display), high settings, no AA, near locked 60fps with Adaptive VSYNC on. Going off the better reviews I've seen, I suspect I can get her to Ultra + 2xMSAA + MFAA on the 950, or Ultra + 4xMSAA + MFAA on the 960.

I would buy these in a heartbeat if EVGA offers a single slot card. I only have room for a one slot card to accompany my gtx 980s SLI. Any comment Jacob?

    Thanks.

I am going to be very optimistic and assume they will be available in the future. This would be a great card for physx and/or htpc running h265.

Yes there will be, but i dont think you should wat for it. The 950 cost the same as the 960 (lol even more, gigabyte 960 4gb cost less than asus 950(this is the only one in shops atm) in my country) so even if it's price stablilises (it will be too expensive anyway) there will be no room for a 950ti and better worth buying a 960.

GTX 950 SLI costs as much as a single GTX 970. Power draw is equivalent. Performance with 100% scaling would be equivalent. VRAM is lower. SLI doesn't scale to 100% and doesn't even work in some games.

    If you're thinking of GTX 950 SLI...just get a GTX 970.

A GTX 950 ti is highly unlikely. There were rumors of a 950 ti in the works, but also a 960 ti. There's virtually no gap in price or performance between 950 and 960, but there is between 960 and 970. A 960 ti may happen at some point, but a 950 ti is EXTREMELY unlikely.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a brand-new EVGA GTX 950 still in the box.

Will this card (I have the 02G-P4-2951-KR) support three 4K displays simultaneously?

    (Like 3 Dell U2718Q monitors)

Thanks for any and all help!!

It would depend on what you are doing.

4k gaming in newer titles I would have to say no, especially if you are going to be using 3 monitors to game on. My 4gb 980ftw would hit 4k@50fps in Destiny 2 on low preset only using 1 4k monitor.

If you arent doing hardcore 4k gaming with 3 monitors, then yes, you should be fine.
