Gpu-z PerfCap Reason Vrel, VOp

So i recently got an EVGA GTX 960 4gb, and i've been doing some overclocking. Long story short, if i use +12mv to the voltage I get the "Vrel" perfcap and that's it. If i proceed to +18mv (What it's at now) then the "VOp" cap comes into play. Is that bad? Should I turn the voltage back down, or am I safe to overvolt more? (Card's voltage is at 1.231v)

    vRel = Reliability. Indicating perf is limited by reliability voltage.
    VOp = Operating. Indicating perf is limited by max operating voltage.
    Pwr = Power. Indicating perf is limited by total power limit.
    Thrm = Thermal. Indicating perf is limited by temperature limit.
    Util = Utilization. Indicating perf is limited by GPU utilization.

    So does the "Limited by max operating voltage" mean that i should increase the voltage above +18mv, or that I should leave it/decrease it?

    It means you've hit the max voltage cap defined by the voltage controller/vbios on the card and cannot increase it any further. You may be able to adjust over +18 inside precision but will not be able to go past 1.231v due to that being the cap.

    Alright Thanks. I thought that's what it meant, but i didn't know if that was gonna make my card turn to ash. Temps are fine though.

    I don't think anyone knows for sure other than NVIDIA driver developers. I would guess that one card can't boost any higher and thus the other card is held back.

    Good guess but I don't think this is correct as all my cards boost to different clocks when ran in sli on stock vbios.

    Hmm...I don't see it any more with the custom bios file, but when I switch over to the stock bios, it pops up occasionally.  Weird.

    That's interesting.
     
    With my two 970's, out of the box clocks, voltage, and vbios, one boosts to 1405, the other to 1366 when ran individually.  Once they're set up to run in SLI, they both run at 1366 while gaming or benching.

    Yeah, some people say their cards run exactly at the same clocks when in sli, other people say their cards clock differently when ran in sli, I'm in the clock differently group.
