I use GTX 970 ACX 2.0, but that makes no difference with OC problems. My highest stable set is 1398MHz.Changing voltage doesn't give anything, the card can't handle 1.200+ for me. In most cases the driver will crash as soon as the card hit the power limit. Only solution for me was editing the BIOS. And make sure your cards aren't getting throttled down, use GPU-Z and see if the GPU clock doesn't get 10~20MHz decrease after some time in-game.

Hmm, what a range of results. Here's my stable o/c results (without crashing or artifacting in Valley/Heaven). GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0 +110 - Core: 1504 mhz. +200 - Memory: 3703 mhz. +6mv +110 Power limit +10 more on the core, or memory clock with volt increase ranging from +6 to +31 causes Valley to crash almost immediately. C'est la vie!

I have FTW+ version. Running uningine valley benchmark on default setting with 1080x1920 resolution produced score of 2370. Adjusting to +125 MHz on GPU and +400 MHz on memory produced score 2716. GPU temperatures run in the upper 70th C with Auto fan control.

Hey guys, new to overclocking myself. Been doing some tests using PrecisionX and Heaven Benchmark.
Have FTW ACX2.0 running at
GPU Clock + 133 (1500Mhz)
Mem Clock +500 (4005Mhz)
And my GPU temp is around a steady 58c benchmark on Ultra, Extreme AA8x etc. seems quite cool eh? Auto fan control, volts bumped up by 18mV. Should I be going further until I reach temps I do not want to pass? or should I be using a different benchmark?

Hello
I'm new to this but it was a huge help for me to know how to do the increases in Mhz (+10 at the time, and stress test it), now you said that when ever i reached my Limit on the Mhz, i can add more Voltage, by how much should the increases be? that would be my question?.
ones i reached a limit on Mhz, do i have to add tons more voltage to go 10mhz higher? or does it always scales up in the same patterns? (more voltage = 20mhz higher and so on until you reached 90°c...)

My 970 ftw+ card also stutters in Heaven at stock speeds. I always just thought it was something in heaven that made it do that. Not to mention when I first started to run Heaven I would only get a score of 903, I had to go into nvidia console and set it to single monitor preference, set max performance preference, and disable vsink globally just to get a score over 1365. There is a guy on YouTube that has almost the same setup that I do, a 8350 a 970, and at stock speeds he gets a 1868 heaven score. I contacted EVGA and they gave me a list of things to try and I've tried everything on the list, uninstalling the graphics driver in windows safe more with the program graphics driver uninstaller and also removing the Vulcan drivers also. I cleaned my pcie slots and re seated the 970 and made sure the 8+6 pin connectors are seated all the way in. I even switched pcie slots to rule out a bad pcie slot. The only thing I haven't done is trying it in a different computer. I don't have one to try the card in to test it. I'm thinking that it might be an issue with my card, it might be bad. I bought it in March so I have like aboiut 1.5 weeks before my step up date goes away. I'm hoping that the 1070 gets added to the step up program on the 10th so I can step up to the 1070. I checked evga and they don't have anymore of the 970 ftw+ cards, so I'm hoping that even after that date, they will go ahead and let me have it. Though I'm not going to hold my breath.
My specs are an
Windows 10 home premium.
Asrock 970 extreme 4 motherboard
FX8350 (not overclocked)
Corsair h90 water cooler
970 ftw+ on the newest Nvidia driver (not overclocked)
16gb of gskill memory 1866 speed
256 SSD
1 TB storage drive
256GB harddrive x 2
and an external 500gb harddrive
EVGA 1000GQ power supply
Generic mouse and keyboard. And by generic, I mean cheap.
I run 7 case fans to make sure it's not a heat issue. I know, jetplane. Right now I'm sitting at a cpu temp of 56c and a gpu temp of 38c . I don't think it's a heat issue.

Certain spots in heaven do stutter. Overclocks can affect your heaven scores. 56c while idle is a pretty high temp for the cpu. Check and make sure your cpu isn't overheating/throttling while running heaven, a throttling cpu can cause lots of stuttering.

Anyone have issues increasing the voltage in AB? I attempted, numerous times, to apply +6mv but jumps back to the default value. I've also tried applying the voltage change on load and doesn't stick. Edit: Changed mv to 1175 max, applied the change then AB jumped it down to 1075. So it's now +63mv from stock. +63mv 110% 90c +120 +420

That 56 was right after I finished running Heaven and Firestrike. Right now my CPU is sitting at 22 under 16% load, and the GPU is at 44 under 2%. It's not a heat thing I don't think. I've been in talks with EVGA and they say that my heaven scores are normal, they say that a 970 should only get between 950-1100 at stock and if you are getting more than that you are overclocking. They tell me my card is operating normally. I still don't think it is, I see the numbers here and I get to thinking that my card isn't up to where it should be. Anyway I'm hoping the 1070 gets put on the step up program on the 10th. I have until the 13th before I'm SOL on trading for a newer card. I asked the guy that since they didn't have any 970 ftw+ cards in stock, that even afdter my step up was gone could I still get a 1070. He said they could only trade for the same card and if they didn't have one, they would trade for the same performance card or a card with better performance. Come on 1070. lol

I'll share my results:
GTX 970 FTW stable OC:
+88 Core clock
+500 memory Clock
+6 mv Voltage
+120 Voltage
+91° Tempeture
all that gives me 1480Mhz on the core clock and 8010mhz on the memory, i compare my results in benchmarks and the memory clock gives me a bigger jump in FPS than core clock, i dont know why. my card is a regular FTW not FTW+ so im limited on POWER LIMIT, it hits it very quickly and it becomes unstable if want to go higher than 1480mhz, hence the FTW+ came out.

Have had my GTX 970 FTW for about 2 weeks now, got to say I Love it :)
Think i have got the most performance squeezed out of it now with 1550mhz core and 4001mhz mem
+110 core
+500 mem
110% power limit
+31mV (but doesnt go over 1218mV ?!?!)
any higher on the core and it becomes unstable, but i think if the mV was to put more than 1218mV then i could add more.
any higher on mem and i start to see artifacts.
I dont know about anyone else but I see a greater fps boost in ALL games with the mem overclocked, but everywhere i read people say core overclock is better for fps boost. I'm new to overclocking (in a way)

Sounds like you'll need to back your clocks down a bit.
