Please see the below video on the best way to remove the top cover on the TORQ X10:

Also here is an image for reference:

When putting the top cover back on, make sure to FIRMLY press on the back section to ensure that the cover is fully seated, if not it can affect the click responsiveness. You should hear an audible click as the top cover clicks into place.

You may also reference the Hardware Canucks video, which demonstrates the same method:

Any chance EVGA will be selling extra top covers just in case it breaks? Maybe even customizable ones with different textures? A heavy duty rubberized one would be great.

If it does happen to break, just let us know and we will send out a replacement.

Video works fine... had no problems removing the cover.  Took a bit of reverse engineering (I'm old and can't see well) to get it seated back to original condition.  It works fine... thanks.  Now if I could only be about 40 years younger... ah.

Unfortunately I broke mine when I first got it, but of course EVGA promptly sent me out a new one. After figuring out how to take it off properly it's a breeze. I really like this mouse, haven't had a complaint yet.

For me if I only do step one, (applying pressure on the front of the cover towards the back) it pops right off with ease and it doesn't make that snapping sound like it's going to break.

Agree with this one. Just pressure on the front is enough to open it.

Torq 10 non carbon version I think is good complete with CORSAIR K70 non RGB.
I think there are little similarity between left-right buttons on Torq 10 and hand holders on CORSAIR K70.
Yes, deserved iF Design Award Winner 2015 for attractive TorQ.

I find it funny that I thought the thing for adjusting the height of the mouse had something to do with opening the mouse to add or take out weights.  I finally read the instruction manual right that came with it and things got done without me breaking the mouse. LOL!

PhysX .. the way games were meant to be played.

My x10 has been rock solid. Only issue I've had is with the paint coming off the red buttons.
