For those of you installing different fans. Is the video card controlling the fan speed or have you connected the fans to the motherboard?
Edit: Just read its 2pin which is controlled by the voltage going to the card.
I have mine connected to a PWM connected on the motherboard and put on silent profile. Unless your really pushing the overclock on the card and you have a poor fan, you won't need to ramp up the fan speed (ie don't need to adjust speed to GPU temp). I have the original fan that came with the hyper 212, standard clock that it was shipped with never went over the upper 40s lowers 50s under load.

A litte bump to this thread.
I just got this card and the idle noise is way to loud. I currently got bios version 82.07.32.00.50, is there a newer version?

After further research, this doesn't seem to be able to be solved unless you replace the fans. This was definatly the first and last time I bought an EVGA product. I did however fin a guy who customized the rpm in the bios: And with that mod, you can get a totally silent card being 32 degrees in idle!

a new owner of 750ti ftw here. also disappointed with the fan control stuck at 42% minimum.
have not checked the bios yet but reading this thread, looks like it may not do much at all?
can someone suggest replacement fans (much quieter)?
someone mentioned that with generic Microsoft driver, it is quiet.
what would I suffer without the NVidia driver?

Hi,
After successfully installing the BIOS that you sent to me, I found that the fan stopped spinning at idle, which is good. But it will not work even when the GPU is under load. Further the card will produce some buzzing sound, which is quite loud (even louder than the noise produced by the fan spinning at 42% speed before). Right after I updated the BIOS back to 82.07.55.00.50, this sound immediately disappeared, and the fan also started to spin. Could you help with this?
