I've had my SR-2 for nearly 3 years. Up until now its never bothered me, but when i push the power button it takes roughly 40 seconds for anything to appear on the screen (I usually just left it on). It boots fine after that, but I didnt know if this is normal or not? I've updated the bios and that doesnt seem to help. Any suggestions?

Mine is like this as well. It's definitely gotten worse over time. It used to post quickly, now it can take a minute like you said. It's kind of sad when 90% of the boot up time is waiting for post when you have a fast SSD.

It is "server" board, so it has to check all components when booting up. You can see which stage it was by looking at LED code.
It might be abit faster or slower from rig to rig depends on rig's setup (overclock, ram, gpu,....)

hmm, well at least i'm not the only one. I may mess around with some of the components and see if i can make it go faster. Mine has never posted quickly like echrei's though, and it is a very similar build. I can't argue though because it still boots fully in less than 1:30

Do you have any external hdd or usb attached? I have seen some computer regardless of brand/class hang due to these before.

No external hard drives or USB drives attached here. I'll have to look at the boot codes and see which one it is hanging on the longest.

may want to disable in bios hang on errors, disable any boot device you do not need, cddrive, network, removable drives, etc

My computer took roughly the same before an upgrade. Maybe it is just due to age.
