I also am a diehard Novalogic fan, going all the way back to 1993
Novalogic pioneered (and holds/held the original patents on) on hundreds of the features we take for granted in online multiplayer games.
The "med pack" was invented at Nova, as was the ability to "pick up a dropped kit". It was the very first company to develop the STAT server for recording a players online gaming statistics. Novalogic was the first company to ever run 32 player online netcode and support it out of the box...
The list of online FPS features developed by Novalogic is endless, and nobody who plays first person shooters today would recognize the games they play, without all the play aspects that were developed and pioneered by Novalogic.
And the ability to play on unrestricted maps sizes (go anywhere without any map boundary limits) was a feature back in the late 90's, that to this day has never been accomplished by anyone else.
If your playing a first person shooter today, whether you know it or not... you have Novalogic to thank for most of the great gameplay features.
Novalogic was at its peak in 2004, coming off its hit series of #1 selling Deltaforce games. The next year, Joint Operations was to be its most impressive game to date, with huge 150 player servers and extremely deep combined ground/air/vehicle gameplay.

http://blip.tv/file/get/Maniacpictures-JOAtMAX1705839.wmv That release was by all measures a huge sucess, the only problem was that Battlefield 2 was released 2 months later...
While (in my opinion) JointOps was a much better game than BF2, there was no doubt that BF2's higher res textures and extensive marketing made it more "appealing" and JointOps sales were completely destroyed and so was Novalogic.
By the end of 2005 Novalogic's days as a FPS powerhouse developer were over. Over 200 staff of the dev teams were let go, and Nova entered its current period of rehash releases done by contracted outsource teams....
Angel falls was originally scheduled by Novalogic for release in 2008 as "Black Op's"
http://blip.tv/file/get/Maniacpictures-AngelFalls2009283.wmv We are still waiting.....
