As i have bought two of these revised gtx 460 superclocked V2, i decided to see how good they overclock. I managed on 1.075v, 1003MHz core, 2006MHz shader and default memory. Temps rise only by 2c - 3c. Only wondering if that's a good overclock on that voltage, that is the lowest i can go for stability.

That is a very high clock, impressive if it is truly stable. Mine won't go over 900. I would test stability with EVGA OC-scanner. http://www.evga.com/articles/00530/

No artifacts at all, full load was 71c. I also tested how far i can go on default voltage, managed 951MHz Core and 1902MHz shader.

Great OC, considering it's a GF114 950+ is doable

Very nice! I've got an older GTX 460 and can only get to 840MHz on stock voltage. I usually back it down to 825MHz, just to be safe.

Just wondering what anyone else is getting with this card as far as OC. I bought this card (GTX 460 SC V2) and didn't know it was a V2, because it didn't say anything on the package about it. Stock clocks are 867MHz Core/1735MHz Shader/2025MHz Memory @1.012v. I tried the OCs above and while it's stable according to EVGA's OC scanner, it crashes during Uniengine's Heaven benchmark. I have no problems playing Star Wars: The Old Republic while OC'd, however. Is the 1003/2006 @ 1.075v safe to use for everyday gaming? I get temps up to 75C under full load with this setting. Also, what's a reasonable overclock for the memory? Last question, what's the best program to OC? I've been using EVGA's Precision to change the clock speeds and EVTune to change the voltage because MSI's Afterburner won't let me change the voltage of the V2 card. Thanks in advance for the help!

david2301 whats best way to overclock this gtx 460 v2 The same process as overclocking any other graphics card. Increase the core clock in steps (10-15Mhz to be safe) and then test for stability under load using a program like the overclock scanner or a benchmark. When you see artifacts back down the clock to the previous one and that's your stable overclock. You can go higher if you increase the voltage. Keep an eye on temps, under 80*C is great, above 90*C is when you should start to worry.

I've always wondered how a 192 bit v2 would compare to the 256 bit original at stock clocks (778 mhz vs. 675 mhz). More or less the same at 1080p?

Time to resurrect this thread! Pulled my v2 out, strapped it to a i5-2500k, 8GB of 1333 and took it out for a drive. Here are the clocks I'm playing with Core/Shader/Memory: 992/1984/2126. Bumped memory up by 100, the core by 125 and the voltage is pushed up to about 1.087v.
Some say life is hard, some say it's easy. I say, it need to be beaten with a crowbar from time to time.
