For what it's worth I tried upping the voltage on the 560ti DS SC and it kept going back to the original set value, even using MSI Afterburner with the voltage unlocked. I'm wondering if the 560 series GPU's are set to allow voltage changes.

How much did u try and change it by ? it has to be 12-13mV which is 1 notch.

I'll take a look at it again but I went from what it showed to one notch higher. I've got stable FTW clocks even with it not modified so I'm happy with it. Was just wondering why it would reset when I tried moving it and applied the setting change.

Yeah, mine is the same. I tried upping it but the volt core won't up for me using MSI afterburner.

I'll check it out again tomorrow and see if I need to but for now I've been running FTW clock speeds at nearly the same temps as the stock speeds for the SC are. Just about 1-2c higher but nothing much more. I don't even reach higher than about 71-73c in heaven 2.5 or using 3dMark11.

I am giving this another shot. I am starting over again with the core only. Running Heaven with max settings. I am doing this as we speak and so far. I have the core up to 900. Going for 910 now. If I get it up to FTW speeds for core. I am stopping and will start working on the memory. How come before. When I was moving every thing up 10 notches each time. I got artifacting rather quick? I was only at 870 then. If I make it to FTW speeds with core. And start working on memory. Is that when I need more voltage or something? Or maybe the memory will not be as overclockable as the core?

I was starting to do some overclocking. I ran into a couple artifacts popping up right away using heaven benchmark maxed out. The core was only at 870MHz. I also raised the shader clock and memory clock matching up increase wise with the core. So it looks like I am the unlucky ones and this SC is locked down to where its at from the factory. I was really hoping to get the clocks to SSC or FTW edition speeds. Oh well. I still like the card very much. A bit off topic. Can a psu cause artifacts if it is not giving out enough juice?

Forget the memory to start with and just up the core in 10MHz steps and test each time (the shader is locked to the core so will increase with it), once u start to get artifacts or driver/app crashes then u know u have gone too high for that voltage, if temps are ok then u can bump up the voltage a notch and continue, once u are happy with how far u have gone with the core and found a nice overclock/voltage setting u can start tweaking the memory a bit, same again just go in 10MHz steps and do this with ur core at it's overclock, once this starts to become unstable then back it off a notch and u have ur overclock.
Alot depends if ur just looking for a nice stable 24/7 overclock to use for gaming or highest possible overclock for benchies as to how far u go.

U might not be able to overclock the memory that much and it would have been that holding ur overclock back before, always best to see how far u can go (or as far as u want to) with just the core first then u can see how high u can get the memory to go with it before it starts making the overclock unstable.

U have to go into the settings and the general tab and check the boxes for start with windows, start minimised, unlock voltage control and unlock voltage monitoring and then restart Afterburner, if u still can't change the voltage then u must have an older version of Afterburner, anything after 2.1 has worked for me.

Got ya. I got up to 910 and got really heavy artifacting. Backed it down to 900. It was there again. Not nearly as bad. Not sure why as it was not there before. Backed it once again down to 890. Had a little bit. So obviously it looks like it is not stable. I will certainly leave it at stock settings for sure. I have tried 3 times now and this card is just not meant to be clocked higher it seems. I see others OC with no problem. Did I really just get that unlucky? Example. Look at how high they got theirs.   http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1617/15/

Was all this with the stock voltage ? some cards are shipped pretty much on the limit with the stock voltage they come with and won't overclock at all without a voltage increase.

Yeah it is using stock voltage. I have not touched it.... You think that could be the issue?

If ur temps are ok then once u get the core to the point it starts artifacting then up it a notch and try that same setting, u will normally find it becomes stable and will probably go another few MHz on that voltage till it needs more, just make sure u are checking temps while increasing voltage.
Edit: Also have u tried overclocking that cpu any ?

Messing with voltages is beyond my comfort zone. So I will keep it as is. As for my cpu. I cannot oc it since, I am on a OEM pc. I plan on upgrading to a sandy bridge build later this year. Which is why I got the card a little early. :)

I was curious. Does anyone know if FTW edition is using a higher stock voltage then the SuperClocked version? If so. What is it?

Amazing. No matter how hard I tried and thought it was stable. Even by raising the voltage. It would not be 100% stable. Never got crashes but just artifacts. I have never seen a card so unwilling to OC like mine. I really did finally give up and just left it at stock. How can I get a card that does not OC? Everyone else seems to OC just fine and even in reviews.

I'd just go with s modular 650 watt pus mine works just fine with my 560sc I had that same problem had the same exact power supply so I didn't skimp on my PSU and bought a module PSU 650 80 plus bronze but after awhile a friend Upgraded his video card and gave me his 2 evga gtx560 ssc and once again had that problem again so I finally went full on bought a 1000 watt modular 80 plus bronze worked just fine not a problem since and I am running these cards st full blast oc
