Well hello there! I'm having an issue that I can't seem to solve, and I hope someone will be able to help.
I bought an EVGA 850W G3 PSU, and while it functions perfectly fine, it's also by far the loudest component in my build :(. The "air flow" noise is something I can handle, but the fan makes this clicking sound! What's really odd: I bought this to replace another EVGA 850W G3 that started making the exact same sound about 27 days after purchasing. I poked around my case - nothing is obstructing it or being pushed up against it. I used another PSU in this case and didn't have the same issue. Sounds like a loose wire is stuck in the fan, but it's only audible at certain RPMs, and the PSU is only a week old, so it's not "normal wear and tear." What do you think?
I have a video for you. The first part demonstrates this clicking/rattling sound, and the second part is with the PSU fan off to compare to the ambient noise and noise caused by poor audio recording equipment (my phone).
Video is posted on YouTube at the link below. (Sorry for the spaces. I've not posted enough to add links.)
