Facebook Gaming has just launched its cloud-streaming service, and unlike Stadia, Facebook doesn't plan to "overpromise and under-deliver". Instead of rushing the streaming market, Facebook plans to adopt a slow and steady approach to cloud gaming, focusing on accessibility, instead of "data centers, compression algorithms, resolutions, or frames per second." Right now, over 380 million people play games on Facebook each month, and Facebook plans to start its could gaming service by making higher quality games more accessible to these users. Unlike its competitors, Facebook is starting its streaming service by focusing on casual gamers, rather than the enthusiast market.

Facebook Gaming's cloud streaming service will not require specialised hardware or gamepads. All users will need is their mobile devices, or a keyboard/mouse when playing through a PC. For now, Facebook will focus on free-to-play mobile games and plans to expand to more types of game as their service improves, and their userbase expands. With the launch of Facebook's could streaming beta, Facebook's offering access to games like Asphalt 9: Legends by Gameloft; Mobile Legends: Adventure by Moonton; PGA TOUR Golf Shootout by Concrete Software, Inc.; Solitaire: Arthur’s Tale by Qublix Games; and WWE SuperCard by 2K. This list will grow in the future, expanding to cover more experiences, genres, and playstyles.

For now, Facebook's cloud streaming service supports PC and Android. At this time, the service lacks iOS support.

Facebook Gaming's cloud streaming beta is currently available within some regions within the US. In the coming months, Facebook plans to increase regional access to their services, though, at this time, it is unknown when the service will be available outside of the US. As time progresses, Facebook also plans to expand its games coverage, which could see Facebook support AAA experiences in time. This will make Facebook Gaming a true competitor to Google Stadia and Amazon Luna in the eyes of gaming enthusiasts, though it remains to be seen whether or not Facebook's streaming service will find success outside of the casual gaming market.

Should be interesting to see if Facebook can be successful in this venture.

With all the nonsense I'm hearing about Facebook accounts being tangled up with Oculus right now facebook doesn't know how to serve up gaming right. So much going wrong there I donno where to begin.

I always see random streams on my timeline and alot of people watching the streams but I never heard of the streamers. All power to them though. If they can get it right they can make some competition for youtube and twitch.

When you use Facebook (or any own products by them) you are also selling your data. Think twice before using them.

Facebook should have just started a subsidiary completely devoid of their name.

Yeah, no thanks.  Facebook will never be an option for me... If you are interested in this go to GeforceNow it works great and is very reasonable.  Stadia has a free version now so yeah...

I'll avoid all streaming services for as long as possible... as they will cost of fortune in the end. By the gtime I have no other choice for gaming, I'll probably have already lost interest in it or died
