Out of curiosity, does anyone have experience with these? Seem like a reasonable thermal pad alternative if they work as intended.

Waterblock performance has been pretty much the same regardless of the brand or design for quite a while...go look at CPU blocks where just about everything is within a degree or two of each other:

your showing your ignorance with this post. For the techpowerup reviews, they use a very light AIDA64 workload that hardly stresses the cpu. In real stress tests ppl are repotting 7c better than the second best from ekwb which costs 100bucks more. The foundation block that your poo-pooing is $119

second, nobody gives a damn what a random on internet thinks of them. Tell any girl that you paid $700 for a card to play video games faster, and she will laugh at you. Everyone has their hobbies and values things differently.

Your on a forum where ppl are paying $1800 for a gpu thats 8% faster than a $700 counterpart... instead of taking your fight them, paying $1,100 extra, your spending your time belittling ppl paying extra for the best cooling water block. Not to mention, there isnt even another FTW3 block out yet. There arnt even legit options there to make a valid point. Currently, it's literally this or nothing
your wasting your time here

Am I the only one who's so American i'm upset that for like $400 it should include some RGB that I want to turn off and that's a deal breaker?

The amount of jealousy in many of these posts is surprising.  We're all hobbyists here on an EVGA forum, nobody who is 'slightly interested in computers' has bothered to subscribe and posts here.  What is with all the bitterness?  It would be like someone on a Ferrari forum posting that he drove his new Enzo into his office for fun and the forum jumping on him it.  ****ing weird, do not like it.

okay but you have to understand that card is entirely copper plated Nickle and is extremely thick and beefy. They also come with a full size thermal pad, like a massive sheet which can easily cost $100 if you buy that on your own.
If you get the pure copper with thin backplate it will be $308 total with backplate included. The started out with beefy xl backplate and pro XE Nickle (make sure to check out the process on that much better than standard nickle) because they released the max enthusiast version first
You get what you pay for. Gamers nexus got 8 C over ambient even after shunt modding.... To get that kind of thermal performance with such high power consumption is amazing and unheard of.
I already have an optimus cpu block in its own 420mm loop and the temps blow anything and everything out the water (pun intended )

I agree .. "you get what you pay for is right , I just don't believe in overpaying" , I like the "Bang for your Buck Approach"
Edited to avoid " Wall O Text Effect " ....

These don't work with the ftw3 right?
As far as the optimum price, I don't think it's too crazy considering it's marketed as the top tier of all the water blocks out there for performance and aesthetics. It does definitely look amazing with that thick piece of acrylic. With that said, it's too rich for my blood. I just want a open loop with max efficient oc without trying to go crazy with watts. The diminishing returns point is where I'll be.

You completely missed my point guys ... I'm in Canada and that water block would be somewhere around $750.00 Cdn  by the time it reached my door and that's just stupid.  I don't care what it's made of    If you are in the US maybe $400.00 would not be too bad ??  I dunno ?? That's up to you.  I would say the same things no matter which company had released a block at that price point.

For the record I could care less how much money you spend or what you spend it on , Jeez.   When it comes to hobbies to each their own ,  I can assure you there are many of us in this forum with hobbies MUCH more expensive than liquid cooling a PC.
