So aside from the FTW3 being physically larger than the SC2 and some nominal memory speed and texture fill rate increase...just how much better is the FTW3 in actual FPS in a current AAA title?  Has anyone done any side-by-side benchmarks?   I can't imagine there being that big of a difference, but I'm curious before I swap my FTW3 for a SC2.

No difference at all.  Most pascal gpu's are mostly the same.  Only the cooler being different

Out of the box performance will be very similar, a couple of FPS if that. Biggest difference are the other features, improved cooling, more power phases, secondary BIOS, etc.

Either card is a very good option. On my own SC2 card I see graphics performance of about 29K in Firestrike and clocks of about 1949 Mhz, just by increasing the Power and Temp Targets for the card.

Why are you swapping from the FTW3 to the SC2?

I think the review at GamersNexus sums it up pretty well:

Side by side benchmarks wouldn't give you much information, as the biggest difference in performance will be determined by the luck of the draw with the chip that ends in each card and not by the model of the card.

I like the option of having the second BIOS on the FTW3.  It'll allow me the ability to run all three fans at once if I don't want to use Precision XOC or the default BIOS fan curves.  Plus, it's a nice option for people on OSes not supporting Precision.

The FTW3 should perform better under power target/power limited situations due to its available 127% power target/power limit that is available on the slave vbios.

The real benefit of these card are the lowered sound output ( Potentially, depending on fan curve, load, ambient temps etc. ) and the ability to hold a higher clock rate more consistently..

Other than that each gpu will perform pretty much the same depending on the quality of the silicone.

Yes, the FTW3 will have bigger boobs than the SC2. Go with the FTW3.
