Have the FTW3 Gaming cards been available at all since launch? All I have seen are Ultras everywhere.
If not, any idea when production will start or they will make their way to the market?

Jacob said they are coming on Twitter. I strongly suspect that the first few months will have a planned higher proportion of FTW3 Ultras. As rabid early-adopting enthusiasts, we probably pick FTW3 Ultras over the FTW3 Gaming at a higher rate than the average more price-sensitive buyer 6 months after launch.

Have a backorder with Adorama for one. Starting to think I messed up by not back ordering the Ultra instead.

I'm honestly mad. Ultra's aren't binned. They are literally the FTW3 Gamings with a factory OC that the Gamings can match in under 5s. It's just a different Bios. They are identical in all other ways. I pre-ordered a gaming on Adorama...and I signed up to be notified for a gaming before any of the others, so I am feeling ****ed here for choosing the sane option instead of 20$ for a bios file I can download and flash myself.

I haven't seen any and it makes sense to only make most expensive one right now because nvidia can't make the gpu dies fast enough so aibs might as well only make the most profitable skus since they will sell no matter what

Exactly why I went FTW 3 gaming, i'll pocket £20 to clock it myself.
My brain imploded at £799.99 price point but not as must as £779.99 lol
Now paying the price though.

I asked the same question a few days ago, but unless an EVGA employee replies, we won't ever know. I'm expecting a wait of up to 3 months which is why I started casually checking Newegg again.

I have a ftw3 gaming and the bios doesnt seem to be different just the boost clock but its the same power target. https://www.3dmark.com/pr/407968 doesnt seem to affect anything related to your clocks and its the same pcb. If your going to get a 3080 just go with the ultra for insurance. They are close enough in price If your going to get the 3090 though I would advise you get the gaming (if available) and save yourself $70 as there isnt a difference in performance

I know I'm not an EVGA guy which is who we all need to hear from right now but... I have seen 3080 and 3090 FTW3 Gaming cards on twitter there have been a very, very small amount of photos of these that I've seen on twitter, however, they were posted very soon after the 3080 and 3090 launch dates. So my guess is that there was a very small production run of the 3080/3090 FTW3 Gaming versions and were sold locally in the USA as I don't think the photos I saw were posted from outside this country. My theory is that after the initial week or two after the launch dates they went very heavily into 3080 FTW3 Ultra production as I'm seeing tons and tons of photos of this model all over the place and my retailer has made its way through the queue for this version surprisingly quickly. But this decision has caused the supply to the other cards to be neglected I ordered my 3090 FTW3 Gaming literally 5 minutes after the launch time and I'm right at the front of the queue and the 3 week almost 4 week wait is very frustrating now. We really need to see EVGA moving onto producing and shipping the other models now.

It is weird I have seen the RTX 3080 XC series with 3 different models on internet but not the FTW3 gaming model, seems a bit odd..

It's habit. The old 2080Ti FTW3 regular was garbage compared to the FTW3 Ultra. It was an entirely different SKU. The FTW3 Ultra had the "A" variant chip with a better bin and allowed AIB's to set whatever power limit they wanted. It could go to 373W. The FTW3 non-Ultra was a poop chip with a max of 280W and performed worse than a founder's card.
Thus, any FTW3 Ultra is wonderful and the non-Ultra is poop. If the 3090 Ultra is just an OC on the non-Ultra, it's certainly a win for us to not have arbitrarily gimped chips circulating around.
