I typically sell my cards after 1 or 2 years, so it isn’t worth it for me. If you keep your cards, it is definitely worth it.

As long as you purchased from amazon.com and it was sold by amazon.com, you should be able to purchase the extended warranty. If it was a third party seller, the card may be considered used and would no permit the purchase of an extended warranty. Check the “sold by” and verify. If al else fails, ask evga on the phone line :-)

Amazon

You would need to ask amazon, but I don’t think they do extended warranty through their store, I think they sell warranty services and such, but it is through a third party company.

You can get an actual extended warranty through EVGA since you should be registering your card with evga anyway.

extending evga's warranty is the cheaper option btw i think its like 25$ to get 5 years. at least it is cheaper  on the more expensive cards, but square trade warranty's of amazon may be cheaper on a less pricey card. the only benefit to square trade is when it goes bad they just send you a check as they cant repair them

yep at least that's how it has worked on everything else if there no option for repair they just refund the original price. but square trade works a little diffrent then say evga. you warranty a set amount of money and if you use some for repiar you have that much less. but in the sense of gpu's theres not really a place to have a defective one repaired at like you would with a laptop with a faulty keyboard so it will end up getting refunded

Have you ever made a claim on square trade warranty? Do they nit pick the product to find any possible way to void the warranty?  A lot of the reviews on amazon about square trade warranty are bad.

EVGA Extended Warranty

https://www.evga.com/support/warranty/extended.asp

rates for 5 year OR 10 year are listed

If you are going to keep the card longer than the original 3 year warranty, it can be nice to have

If EVGA warranty replaces your card the rest of the extended warranty is transferred to the replacement card

+1, I would recommend EVGA's extended warranty. My last two cards, one from Fry's and one from Amazon I purchase the 5 year extended warranty from EVGA after registration.

Also you can purchase EVGA's Advanced RMA as well where they will cross ship the new card to you and depending on which one you purchase you can get it as fast as next day.

I have done quite a few on a laptop and some tablets and never had any problems with them. I think alot of people for some reason assume square trade covers physical damage, but that's an extra feature of some warranty's. Will let you guys know if I ever need to utilize the gpu one . But so far the times I have had to deal with square trade there was no issues

Also remember that square trade time starts teh day you buy it, but it isn't covered until manufacture warranty runs out. Ie if you buy square trade for 4 years, and the manufacuture has a 1 year warranty, your first year with square trade they will tell you to go the manufacture. Its only in year 2,3, and 4 that square trade will actually do anything.  So in essence what you buy the warranty just know its for 1 year less than what is advertised.
