Hi All

Shopping for a new board and decided on the x299 Dark.
I read up reviews and was pretty pleased with the prospect of the potential in this board. The mobo was out of stock on Amazon uk so I thought I would order direct from the good folk at Evga. Looking on the Evga shop I noticed the x299 Dark no longer has the dual fan cooling solution on the vrms and I wondered why the revision, was there a problem or any difference between this new x299 Dark and the dual fan cooling edition?

Thanks in advance

I do have the dual Fans on the vrms without any issue!! Now the question is why EVGA have decided to remove it? or it's just an error? Then if it's not an error, big Question is why EVGA installed that one in the first place?

Thanks for your input PINKTULIP !
Yes I am very curious myself, it certainly will not put me off buying the board but would like to know about the update.

The link I posted above shows a different cooling solution on the landing page but when you go to the actual product page it is indeed the same as the u.s. x299 Dark

Thank you to the kind person who pointed that out to me via pvt message much appreciated!!
Still it begs the question what is this pic of the x299 doing sporting a different cooler?

So it appeared to be dual Fan facing backward instead of facing up!!! It actually looks better and makes more sense in term cooling, also Pcie slots colors are all black!!!

I apologize for the confusion. The initial article used a pre-production heatsink setup, and this was changed to the version you see today after concerns regarding VRM temperatures on other motherboards were raised. One thing to note: The article version of the heatsink DID NOT have any fans.

Placed my order looking forward to this now!
Not to worry PINKTULIP am sure you could find a way to mask the slots that are not in use

Still that pre production …. ok its now a desktop screensaver.

At first glance it looked like the early production engineers board, memory slots we're closer to the CPU socket and normal PCIe slots not the heavy duty metal reinforced ones that are on the current boards. Besides having the early heat sink sans fans and heat pipes

Below VRM Heatsink is beautifull small mask for heatsink and look amazing.
Definitely EVGA X299 Dark need CPU full transparent with White LED for better visibility of hardwares arround.
EKWB Supremacy EVO RGB or X99 EVO Nickel.

New EKWB Edge series not fit so nice on X299 Dark.
    Better is classic EVO.
