Hi! I have a newly purchased z370 ftw motherboard, I have mounted everything, even the video card (evg GTX1070 TI ftw) but the computer does not start, the LEDs relating to the PCIe slot remain lit red and the error code on the display is 18 and nothing is visible on the screen. The first start up the computer remains on for about 10 seconds then it restarts by itself to stay on with the same error code 18. Seeing the codes in the manual is on the "Pre-memory North Bridge initialization is started"
I hope for your help. Thank you all!

    Hello Enzo,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your motherboard. I see here that you've purchased a Z370 FTW running a 9th gen processor. Can you check which BIOS you've installed? Do you happen to have someone who may have the 8th gen processor to test with?

There should be a BIOS update to improve compatibility with the CPU if it did not already come with the latest BIOS updates.

I would also recommend that you try testing the system completely barebones (just the CPU and 1 stick of RAM) and see if you're able to complete the boot - POST steps. Then add components one by one. Should you have any further issues, questions, or concerns, feel free to contact us directly through support@evga.com or through our 24/7 Customer Support Line 1 (888) 881-3842.

    Regards,

you'll need to update your BIOS for the motherboard and recognize the processor.

Bios needs to be updated. Best solution would be to send the board back to evga to have it reflashed with the latest version.

Or find a pc shop locally and see if they can do it for you if there willing for a charge.

Or find a cheap used CPU that will work to flash with.

A friend with a older cpu that's compatible that is willing to help? Heh wishful thinking.
