After updating to Bios ver. 2.07 I can only get into the Bios with one stick of Ram. I have 4 sticks. All have been tested individually, and they all work. Anyone else have a problem with the newest version of the Bios? Also what's the difference between version 1.18, and R118? What's the "R" stand for?

Already did the load and save in Bios stuff more than once. Doesn't help. Also, what's the "R" stand for?

I do not know why EVGA chose the R to indicate a change in the "Driver Version"

My previous Post shows the dates & what the change was with those BIOS

Maybe ver. 2.02 is good. It say's "Improved memory Compatibility". Maybe that's the issue I'm having.

What version of the BIOS did you have prior to updating? And when you say you can only get into BIOS with 1 stick, are you still able to boot to windows, or are you getting stuck on a POST code?

I can use 1 to 4 sticks as long as I don't try going into the Bios. Once I do I can't even go into the log on screen. I think I had 1.18 last. Not 100% sure though. Maybe I should stay away from all those versions that start with a 2. Also, what does the "R" stand for in R118?

I was wondering if Stepping through all the different BIOS was Recommended instead of just Jumping to the Top of the list ?

I'm guessing only Evga would know the answer to that since it's their Bios.    :/

Perhaps it just didn't flash properly? Your board I believe has 3 BIOS options available. You could use one of those to re-flash the BIOS onto the current BIOS you are on.

I've tried all 3 bios's onboard plus have had 3 bios chips now. Two X99 boards. Same thing happens. I think maybe some piece of hardware doesn't like 2.07. I guess it happens. Since 1.18 was after R118 I'll probably try going with the newer of the two. 1.18 I just wanted the latest bios, but if it's not going to work then I can't.

Ahhh. I was unaware of that. Just to confirm, when you do boot to the BIOS, and flash the BIOS, all settings are reset by using the CMOS clear button?
Out of curiosity, have you ran memtest with all four sticks installed?

Yes I ran Memtest, and they all passed. Also yes I did do CMOS clearing several times during these problems.

What version of the BIOS did you have prior to updating? And when you say you can only get into BIOS with 1 stick, are you still able to boot to windows, or are you getting stuck on a POST code?

    -Jacob B.

I can use 1 to 4 sticks as long as I don't try going into the Bios. Once I do I can't even go into the log on screen. I think I had 1.18 last. Not 100% sure though. Maybe I should stay away from all those versions that start with a 2. Also, what the "R" stand for in R118?

Perhaps it just didn't flash properly? Your board I believe has 3 BIOS options available. You could use one of those to re-flash the BIOS onto the current BIOS you are on.

    R stands for Revision likely.

    -Jacob B.

I've tried all 3 bios's onboard plus have had 3 bios chips now. Same thing happens. I think maybe some piece of hardware doesn't like 2.07. I guess it happens. Since 1.18 was after R118 I'll probably try going with the newer of the two. 1.18

Ahhh. I was unaware of that. Just to confirm, when you do boot to the BIOS, and flash the BIOS, all settings are reset by using the CMOS clear button?
Out of curiosity, have you ran memtest with all four sticks installed?

    -Jacob B.

Yes I ran Memtest, and they all passed. Also yes I did do CMOS clearing several times during these problems.

Which RAM slots do you have them installed into?
I am sure you have them installed correctly, but always worth asking :) Also, does it give you an error of some sort when you do attempt to go into the BIOS or does it just simply ignore the BIOS key input?

Slots 1,3,5, and 7. Errors have been  "A2" "b6" "35". Also one time there was a CMOS checksum error.

B6 is normal and is training the memory, my MB goes through this cycle 3 times (Reboots 3 times) after a Bios update.
Training the memory that is and can take 5 or more minutes to complete.

I figured that one was normal. I'll reflash to 1.18 and hopefully this problem is fixed.

Still wondering if every bios has to be installed. Not skipping any.

I corrected my Post it is B6 not 35 for the Memory Training.
But 35 is normal as well.

Before you do press the small Red Button to reset the Bios this also forces you to press F12 to enter into the Bios.
Make sure Fast Boot is Disabled in the Bios after you use F12 to enter into the Bios and Disable CSM.

You should go with 2.06 because you do have an RTX Card.

Ok. Also, where does it say in 2.06 that it's for RTX?

No where and No Bios say it is for a model of a Graphics Card.
It is what I run on my EVGA X99 Classified Motherboard(s) as post above.
