Hey All
So got my new pc and having some trouble with my Grapics card...
I downloaded BF4 and played for a while no problem.Temps where good fans where spinning like they should. So next day i wanted to play bf4 and the fans where not spinning when the card was under load.
Around 80-85 ? The card blows hot air out of the side to reduce the temperature and when it's back up to 85 ? it does it again.
In evga precisionX 16 tool i saw that the fan speed bar was going up but the counter stayed @ 0rpm and fans where not spinning ???
The Fan speed is on auto and fan curve is on agrassive so ya...Don't know what here the problem is ?
Here are some pictures:

Set every thing back to default in Precision to see if the fan operates normally. Also from your screen shot, it appears auto fan control is not enabled.

    Hi,

Make sure that you are not running any other type of monitoring software at the same time. Furthermore, try reseating the video card and move it to another PCIe slot, if you can of course.

    Hi,

When you turn on the PC do the fans turn on at all? Also, If possible, you try removing the shroud to verify that the fan header is installed correctly [It won't void your warranty]. Lastly, if the issue is not resolved, I recommend testing the video card in another system to see if it behaves the same.

Uninstall PrecisionX and restart your computer - see if your fans run then.

It looks like either you do NOT have PrecisionX set up properly, or PrecisionX is interfering with fan operation.

    hi,

I did what you said,I unstalled PrecisionX and restarted my pc.
So i rent a benchmark but no fans where spinning @ around 80-90 ℃
Then i installed PrecisionX again and just the same as last time...
The Fan Speed bar is moving up and down depends on the temp and the fan curve profile but fans are not spinning and the counter stays @ 0RPM ;/
What the weird thing is that the fans where working yesterday and i played some BF but after dinner they stopped working like today and in the time i was gone my pc was running so ya...

How did you tell the GPU is hitting 80 or 90C without PrecisionX installed? (Furmark? MSI Afterburner, Nvidia Inspector, GPU-Z, etc.?)

If you use more than one GPU monitoring program that is an issue. Why? It is a KNOWN CAUSE of GPU fans NOT WORKING RIGHT.

If you are not using multiple monitoring programs then RMA that GPU.

If you have not checked the fan power cable then try that. To check that, just look at the cable on the internal end on the card that's 4-pins. You should be able to see it between the cooling shroud and the board. If it's unplugged then you can remove the shroud by removing the 5 screws in the back of the card. Gently pull the prices apart and plug it in. Then put it back together. You could also take it apart to check that it's plugged in (be sure). If that's plugged in and it's still not working, then get an RMA as the fan controller has failed. Best way to do that is to call EVGA at 888-881-3842 and go to tech support. From there explain the problem, the troubleshooting and so on. They may ask you to try a few things first, but they will give you an RMA if they can't figure it out. Calling is by far the easiest way to get an RMA as you have to go through tech support anyways to get one.

You have the option between a standard RMA and a cross ship RMA. A standard RMA will require you to send the card for testing w/ EVGA. They will test it at their facility and send you a replacement or your card depending on the tests result. The process would take around 3 weeks to see a new card. (Cardless for three weeks)

You can also do a cross-ship RMA which will send you a card first wishing 1-2weeks. You will keep the card you have now and send it back once you receive the replacement. However, you will need to pay full retail value for the card they send you which will be refunded when they receive the card you send back. So you would be out of $700 for 3-4 weeks, however you would never quite be Cardless. You will also be able to send the card back in the packaging they send you. This eliminates the risk of the card being damaged during shipping.

It's also possible you paid for an advanced RMA when you registered the card. If you did then you can find out about it below.

    More RMA information here: https://www.evga.com/howtorma/

I am have the exact same issues with my evga GXT 970's.

During initial start up and on the post screen, the fans work perfectly fine and all 4 fans spin (I have 2 970's in SLI). As soon as Windows boots up, all 4 fans stop spinning. I do not have and have never had precision X or any GPU altering software installed. I think its an issue with the drivers maybe? i recently downloaded and installed the newest drivers. Should i install an older driver?

The 900 series cards pretty much all have a silent mode now - where the fans won't turn on until the temperature reaches a certain level (for my Gigabyte 980 Ti it happens to be about 60C). When just sitting at the desktop it pretty much never reaches that temperature, so the fans stay off. When booting up the fans spin, as the Nvidia driver control hasn't been loaded yet.

So in short, the silent fan operation is controlled by Nvidia drivers in conjunction with the GPU BIOS. 900 series fans not spinning when not under load and below a temperature threshold is actually completely normal.

    Hi.

Thank you guys for all the info and tips but i think i found what the problem is after a week of research.

So you guys know i had the problem where my fans not spinning when idle or fully under load.
i'am pretty sure that the problem is that the fan cable (header) that is flipping out or broken.
When i puch the cable in a way with some wiggeling the fans work, but not for long...I can get it in a position that it's works for like 10m but that it.
Some times when i start my pc after school the fans seem to work but not for long...
So i called the store where i bought it and they sad that i can come with the pc and they gonne fix it their that i can take it right away after.
That's nice to hear and hope then it works fine XD.

And thank you guys for all the Supp and Help that you gave me.Realy appreciate it :D.
