So I'm on my second 1080 SC right now and both the 1080's I've gotten have massive fan surging issues under load. I know many of you in the forums are having these issues as well. I submitted a SECOND rma request tonight and just got a phone call from EVGA. This is what I was told:
 
EVGA is halting all RMA's of 1080 SC's at this time due to the massive amount of fan issues. According to the agent I talked to, management passed this down within the last few minutes. The reason they have stopped this is they are apparently trying to figure out what the issue is with the fan surging so they can resolve it without having to RMA any more cards. If they can't find a fix, they will resume RMA's. Please be aware, you will not be able to RMA any 1080 SC's while they try to fix the issue. The agent told me he had to cancel my RMA that I activated about 30 minutes ago.
 
Just passing the word along from the phone call I just received. I don't know how this will affect RMA's that are already in progress.

    My guess is that if your 1080 SC has a problem OTHER than with the fan surging, you'll still be able to initiate and complete a RMA.

    I'm just telling you what I was told. I was told no RMA's for any 1080 SC cards until the issue is fixed or if they find they can't fix the issue, but I agree they need to clarify if that means just 1080 SC cards with fan issues or all cards.

    Now I know why I'm waiting till 2017 to get my SC step ups. So since they upgraded everyone one from the ACX to a SC they should upgrade the SC to a Classified.
