Best of the Best... was awesome and made me tear at the end but watching it recently, it wasn't as awesome bit still good and still made me tear all these years later. The sequels were crap though.

I liked Beverly Hills Ninja when I was a kid, and rewatched it recently. Damn is that movie super cringey.

For me it was watching Predator on Blu-Ray. The picture is so clear that it's clear the actors are just covered in oil to make it look like they are sweating in the jungle. I still like the movie but the details on todays video really puts a huge drag on the movie.

Yes, although that happens less to me with movies than games. I tried to replay Max Payne 3 because I remember having a blast, but I just couldn't handle it.

I'll never forget a friend's birthday party in high school. He had a bunch of us over and insisted that we watch "tank girl" because it was one of his favorite movies from when he was a kid. We tried to tell him that it sucked then and it's worse now but he kept insisting.
15 minutes in and he saw the light... err, poop.

Not a movie per se, but some of the cartoons I watched as a kid didn't match up with my memories. Watching Mask as an adult left me with my mouth agape wondering how this disjointed mishmash of sequences could possibly have coalesced into an intelligible story in my younger mind.

Spiderman 3. Gosh rewatching this movie was weird. Spiderman 1, and 2 are both classics that still live up today. I really remember loving the third movie as a kid despite what other people said about it, but after watching the whole trilogy again, all of a sudden way more flaws seem apparent in this third movie. and god I don't like how they integrated the symbiote in this movie, it honestly would've been way better if it was just the Sandman, and Harry maybe.

Well it depends. I re-saw movies that I was fascinated when I was a kid and they appeared quite bad now, and I saw movies that they are good even today.

bonzogoatslayer Surprisingly Shrek holds up better as an adult.
I can second that. Shrek actually does hold up better than I ever could have thought. As an adult his wanting to be left alone becomes more relatable than ever, and Fiona joining him and living a mundane life happily over royalty was a cool narrative element. I know I watched some movies that didn't hold up to the rose-tinted glasses of the past, but I'm blanking on them.

The only movie in the history of cinema to have 100% got the casting right. Only those 2 could do it. Masperpiece

Shrek was one of those movies that literally anyone could sit down, watch, and enjoy. I remember it being the first "kids movie" my dad watched with me and actually laughed at. Recently, when we all got together, we decided to watch Shrek and we STILL laughed. I genuinely can't think of any other movie that can still do that to us.
