Epic Games Sued by PUBG Corp Over "Fortnite" Battle Royale Mode

Korean game developer PUBG, a subsidiary of Bluehole, has filed a copyright violation lawsuit against U.S.-based Epic Games, asking a court to determine whether the latter's "Fortnite" was copied from the former's "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds."
 
There appear to be too many similarities.

    Sounds to me like they're just jealous of Fortnite's success. PUBG is hardly the first IP to use the idea. I mean, if anything Koushun Takami, Kenta Fukasaku and a few others should be suing the PUBG developers.

    Agreed. You also have H1Z1 and Ark that have/had Battle Royale modes. You can't build in PUBG, etc. "Battle Royale" may be the same but the play-style, features, graphics, physics, etc. are completely different.

    only if they stole art assets or lines of code could they even possibly think to sue someone over a game 'mode'....
