Would anyone know how to enable SLi without the Nvlink bridge? (driver mod, etc.?)

I managed to buy the wrong sized bridge (4 slot) and now I'm stuck waiting another week for the 3 slot bridge to come through the mail. Just wondering if there was a workaround to play with in the mean time even though it wouldn't be the full performance of the physical bridge until it arrives.

Much appreciated if anyone knows!!!!

Nvidia has not enabled this feature on consumer NVLINK RTX cards.

What has this to do with the NVLink SLI Bridge used on the new RTX Graphics Card and not even having one on hand?
That links is for using two different GTX Graphics Cards with an SLI Bridge and not enabling SLI without have an SLI Bridge installed.

You are telling Member here that you can SLI two RTX Graphics Cards without an NVLink SLI Bridged?
"I know how to do it, and have already done it."

What is it?

DifferentSLIAuto is a small, free tool that allows you to pair together different GPUs of similar generation/architecture to work together in SLI*
It can also enable SLI on some non SLI/Crossfire compatible motherboards, making it a replacement for the now discontinued HyperSLI program**

*Mixing different VRAM sizes may cause some instability or stop SLI from functioning properly.
**The use of SLI on non multi-GPU motherboards is not guaranteed.

Before you get started, you will want to check compatibility based on architecture.
In your Windows device manager. Right click on your display adapter and go to properties. Switch to the "Details" tab, and in the combo box select "Hardware Ids."
The first three numbers following "DEV" must match for the cards to work together.

You are not showing or telling anyone how to do it.
Post a Video of your Test showing SLI Enabled in the NVIDIA Control Panel and No NVLink Installed on your Cards.
Like when I had to post one for you.

It is not about "SLI with different cards" but enabling SLI in the NVIDIA Control Panel with the same cards.
If this was True and you can set your new RTX Cards to Enable SLI in the NVIDIA Control Panel without an NVLink SLI Bride installed then you should post how you did it. Or you Never Did It.
I know well enough you are an EVGA Forum Moderator and you can delete Posts at will but you are posting false if not miss leading information.

The point is the op wanted to get sli working until his bridge comes in even though it won't be full performance.

Re: Enable SLi without Nvlink bridge installed? 2019/07/08 08:24:26 (permalink)
There is another possible use for this that I thought of... I searched the web and ended up in this thread for that reason.

The newest AMD motherboards have PCIE4.0, and if the performance hit is at least partially due to signals going over slower PCIE3 than faster NVLink then... This would be another way to take advantage of all that PCIE4.0 bandwidth, assuming that's how it could help.

Perhaps this would allow cards without NVLink such as 2060 / 2070 to SLI. Given the non-Super cards might take a dip in prices, this could be a somewhat interesting option provided Nvidia doesn't shut it down (if they shut it down then they're being ____s)
