It was bad this time.. REALLY BAD.

this one was significantly better than the 3080ti or 3070ti launches.the 3080ti launch the "early" times are ONE HOUR after launch because the site totally crashed lol.
 
but this one was less publicized (not an nvidia new model release), so I imagine there were less people aware of it, and hence less people botting the site into oblivion.

I was able to get in instantly. It was much faster in the beginning than it is now. 

yea it dropped at 12:00pm here, so many more people up and able to jump in than the 9:00am slot (for est.)

i had the same experience. i clicked the autonotify direct link 2 seconds before 9:00 and it loaded right at 9:00, and i was in almost immediately.

Seems like a lot of people didn't have an issue (this time or other times) so it's likely bad luck or more likely bad technique.

I was able to get into the 3080 TI and 3070 TI Queues, I could not get into any of the cards that dropped today and I was here an hour before it started.

The direct autonotify page? The back button? Those "techniques" or am I missing something? I feel like many people are somewhat condescending, might as well say "get gud" because that's how it comes off as.

Yea, complete failure, cousin said that the website was either at full capacity or would just crash his browser, which was I'm guessing EVGA's backside server-client things fault,

There are so many variables/factors that go into doing this properly or to the best of a persons ability. Sure the site cannot handle the demand and that is fine, I wouldn't expect it to.

All of these cards went to friends/family for cost (some at a discount).  I know many people that cannot be at their computer or play on their phone during work hours.  A little luck sure but planning/understanding goes a long ways.

I've noticed a lot more posts here and on reddit offer advice and tips which were previously buried in other threads and still for some and myself included in this one it just didn't work well at all. Coming from someone who has snagged a Best Buy drop that was complete luck.

Yea, maybe bestbuy might be the way to go, but the mobile app doesn't work sometimes, and the website also crashes a lot so its literally a disaster

So the planning and understanding, going to answer my question? Because one thing I learned with a previous drop was that the site here seems to like to log you out even though it'll show you as logged in.

I have always logged out and back in to the EVGA site prior to launch (maybe an hour or so before queues open).
 
Then just refresh a single product page for the item I wanted. I have no other programs open, just a single browser with a single tab.
 
Click the Auto Notify button, wait for the fun little window to pop up click in a field an autopopulate my First/Last/Email. If an error occurred right click in the fun little window and click reload frame. (I have also reloaded the whole product page and restarted this process with luck) A person doesn't want to mash F5 or refresh too quickly, wait for the load to fail, then simply try again.
 
I also make sure all other devices on my network are turned off because I want/need all those potential packets.
 
A bit extreme sure but if you don't do your best are you really even trying? 
 
/edit: Also I don't mean to be condescending, I think people just need to understand this comes down to a little bit of understanding and A LOT of luck.  I wish everyone the best and hope they get lucky.  People just need to lower their expectations and try their best and hope for some luck.  When things don't go their way no reason to complain/wine/create a ton of forum spam as it won't change anything, if they did their best they should be able to sleep at night.

It was a disaster, I consistently got Http Server Error 500 on autoNotify submission with the message: "Server error on /Products Application"

scroggs at my wage and almost 200 hrs of trying im disgusted in myself. thats 3 3090s i should of just started scalping my self..
