G'day,
I am building a new rig & have bought a 2000+ EVGA power supply in an attempt to future proof my machine (especially for the upcoming 4000 series).
I have looked but not been able to find out exactly what the "Eco Mode" switch actually does - any info will help me.
see ya

When Eco Mode is enabled, the power supply fan will not spin until a specific load/temperature is reached..That allows for lower-noise operation..When disabled, the fan will spin all the time..That's all.

Beware: I bought a EVGA 850GA (Gold).   Eco mode ON has the FAN OFF all the time. It does NOT turn fan on even when Intel I5 12600K and RTX 3080 12G are pulling over 450W for over 5 minutes. The fan is OFF in ECO MODE, regardless of system load/duration. The PC then crashed. Happened 3 times.  PC does not crash with ECO OFF.  Cannot feel the FAN come on in ECO MODE.
I'm replacing it with a 850 P6 (Platinum), which has the same ECO MODE button. I'll see if my particular GA had an issue or if ECO MODE never turns on the FAN on any model. Not supposed to work this way.

I haven't heard anyone say anything positive about Eco mode. I wouldn't use it.
Do you want to wonder whether your PSU will overheat, or enjoy listening to the fan turning and and off over and over again?
