35hrs again for top tier prize...  What happened to these events being for casual players. Increasing the time requirement over the years has done NOTHING to address the US/EU servers being a ghost town.

Tiers 1 through 4 are still available with the same value of prizes that have been on the gaming events for a very long time. So in reality, nothing has changed. Yes, there is a new tier that requires more play time but the value in that tier is also higher.

We have seen that raising time requirement over the years has done NOTHING to address the US/EU servers being a ghost town.  Who at EVGA thinks it's fun to play with a 150+ ping on Brazil server for 35 hours, due no one wants to play on the US/EU servers. Gone are the days of these events being for Casual Players.

The gaming event time requirement is way out of wack compared how much effort all the other events take.

If we have plenty of players coming into the servers, why do we see so few players on the US/EU servers during and after the events. It's obvious the same old games are not attracting enough people to fill the servers. That is the elephant in the room evga is ignoring. EVGA has hosted events in the past without stats. EVGA could do that again if they wanted. That would allow evga to host newer games that have restricted dedicated servers.

EVGA really need to get back to fun casual events that don't require you to spend 20-35hrs on the game servers to qualify for a chance on top tier prizes. with reports about people dying after playing video games for 24hrs straight, i'm surprised evga would have a 20-35hr requirement tier.

I think it's too late for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, that game is already a ghost town. It would be like hosting a Hardline server again. 2,466 24 hour peak (RS2:Vietnam).

Is that a dedicated EVGA server? If not, your time won't count. You have to play on EVGA servers for time to count.

Scarlet, I figured it out. I needed to use my Steam ID instead of my player name. I think I've always just used my player name on Steam games to get my server time. Oh well. Thank you for hanging with me.

I have never won anything from you guys even though I have entered a number of the contests hosted by EVGA but you guys are awesome for doing what you have been doing for so many years. Your events has something for everyone, keep up the good work ! i just wanted to like your post but since that was not an option I decided to make a comment :)

"IvanASS" STEAM_1:0:45577056 idling l4d2 DE server, possibly with a script, right click attacking periodically
this idling actually kills the game, because the bots do not always follow and stay camping with the idler
and it is impossible to finish the level without the all players in saferoom, gotta wait till zombies get to the idler slowly in spawn

Boting and scripting to spin in place are another reason why I'm not doing the gaming event this year as its the same every year with people botting their way to the hour mark.

Botting isn't really a problem when it comes to competing in the contest. Because to be honest I tried botting last year and after 6 hours of simply avoiding the idle timer I got those hours removed from my stats. I still achieved 20 hours without it but will never play 20 hours against bots again.

I played few years back and I used TF2 and from there the console gave me STEAM_0:0 id, this year I want to do CSGO, console gives me my id as STEAM_1:0, using steam ID finder, I get STEAM_0:0, wouldn't this create a problem if I do CSGO? what id should I use, admins?

I have been using this method itself, it also gives info about servers and other players on that server too:

SteamID refers to your Steam account's unique numeric identifier. The instructions below will help you find your SteamID - for assistance with the Steam Community, please see the Steam Community topic.
    1. Launch any Valve multiplayer game.
    2. Click Options.
    3. Select the Keyboard tab.
    4. Click the Advanced button.
    5. Check the box labeled Enable Developer Console.
    6. Click Apply and then click OK.
    7. Join or create a server.
    8. From the menu screen, press the tilde ~ key - typically in the upper left hand corner of the keyboard to load the Console.
    9. Type status into the console text field and press the Enter key.
    10. Your SteamID will be displayed next to your nickname in the console window.
    SteamID example: STEAM_0:1:1234567

If I remember correctly, those first 0:0 numbers mark which game or from where it was taken (like cs, tf, web browser etc.) and last numbers is unique that marks just you.

    Under construction*: Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 / Evga GTX770 SC + EK copper-acetal / Evga 650w P2 / Corsair 750D / Alphacool 360-45 + 240-30 rads

I think asking the admins of the competition is a better idea.

I already mentioned that I use the console command and the registration page here still wants the full STEAM_... thing, the problem is that the console command does not match the steam id finder method which was mentioned in the thread, I don't want to make guesses then find out I made a mistake later.

Do you have your Steam community profile URL? If so, you can use this website: http://steamidfinder.com/ and put in the URL.

Unfortunately players will do this. However, the admins and myself put in a lot of work to remove them from game play.
