gametheory Do you guys think retail card prices are going to drop in a couple of months with the large amount of GPUs being offloaded by crypto miners?
It is highly unlikely on the nvidia side. I foresee AMD cards dropping in price as the AIB pricing is way above manufacturer MSRP.
I disagree, the nvidia cards are already dropping in price, and can be found from time to time in stock online near MSRP. Ebay prices have bottomed out to the point they are making little to nothing and some possibly even losing some.

mmm_2000 And where are all those Chinese mining GPUs being sold at? I think those miners are just moving their rigs to other countries where they can get that cheap electricity.
Maybe... Regardless of mining, scalpers are still in full force. That will only stop when they no longer have a market that's willing to pay over MSRP for the cards. It might get better if used mining cards flood onto the market and people just go for those instead of new ones. However, I think the drop in ETH mining was only an anomaly. Seems a small percentage of operations just decided to sell out, while others are moving their operations outside of China, I know one moved to Maryland since power is pretty c heap there, but I don't know how long that will last or if the power grid is going to handle that extra load. If not, Maryland might kick them to the curb as well. The ones that are being sold, were sold of in bulk. Perhaps to other mining operations, or people that are going to sell them off on eBay... I don't know. Not seeing them show up as of yet, at least not in a big quantity. They might sell them slowly as to not tank value entirely, as it's been dropping over the last month steadily. The good news for new cards is that it doesn't seem mining operation are investing as heavily in new hardware, most likely to the uncertain future of GPU mining ETH. Sadly, that's kinda' offset by the fact that something is causing production to be lower on nVidia cards in July. We'll have to see if that starts to pick back up soon. Hopefully it does.

I think EVGA's new Elite Member wheel spin discount deal has caused the prices to drop. When people can get 40% off the MSRP plus stack a Associate Code on top of that and get 43% off MSRP, they can sell at those prices and make a profit. Those discounts expire after 90 days. I suspect prices will start to increase once those discount codes are used up.

Sorry, but again I have to disagree, it isn't just EVGA cards. Right now you can get an MSI 3080 Ti Gaming Trio X on Amazon for under 2k, this is only slightly less than the selling price on ebay and only a bit above MSRP for this card. Ebay fees on 2k sale are going to be over 250 bucks.

People that get a discount code can't sell on Amazon and affect the price there?

Absolutely they can, but there are multiple vendors selling the card I mentioned at that price point with many available units. All I am saying is there is a significant trend out there for prices falling sooner rather than later, which was the OPs question. While it may still be a small dot, there is light at the end of the tunnel from my perspective. There were 25 sold listings for the 3080 Ti yesterday on Ebay most of which sold at less than 2k, with prices as low as 1675 for one. And this is a recently released sku that was getting 2700 and above a very short time ago. I'm certain there are many factors at play and every little bit helps. Whatever the reason, I'm just glad to see it getting much more difficult for the scalpers to make a profit and cards getting easier to come by at prices much closer to MSRP.

mmm_2000 I am in queue for the 3785 and 3797. But I just realized that the queue will pretty much never get to me. Here is some data from the tables posted here: 3785 June 17 (6-15 9:03:34) to July 9 (6:15 9:03:44) ----> 10 seconds movement in aprox 22 days, that is 1 minute per 22*6=132 days or one hour per 7920 days or one hour per 21 years. I joined the queue on 6-27. 3797 June 17 6:26:48 to July 9 6:36:45 -----> 10 minutes and 3 seconds in aprox 22 days or one hour in 132 days or one day in 3168 days or one day movement per 8 years. I joined the queue on 6-10. From the data above, I think I might get an EVGA GPU in a minimum of 100 years. Get my point? People like me will never get these GPUs. Unless there is significant production increase, which doesn't seem to happen anytime soon. I am only afraid that at the moment and the next year we will be stuck with buying GPUs from the scalpers on EBAY or other places. ADIOS
Using the time movement is misleading. You should consider how the queue position changes (which unfortunately is not reported). Suppose a thousand people queued on the first day, then another thousand over the next 29 days. If it took a 3 months to get to the second day (1000 queued), then it would take another 3 months to get the next 1000, so #2000 would have it 6 months after launch. But, if you looked at it on a time basis, it took 3 months to get through one day, so #2000 who queued on day 30 would think it would take another 87 months to get their card. Simplified and possibly exaggerated for explanation. Basically, it is likely that the first day or two of it being queue-able likely had a crap ton of people subscribe, with it tapering off by the time you and I queued (I queued for 3785 on 6/22). As the queue moves past those globs, the time should move more for the same number of cards that are dropped.

@mmm_2000: The other thing to consider is that a lot of people signed up for every card available. As people receive cards from one queue or the other, or NewEgg, BB, etc., they will either remove themselves from other queues or just ignore the "invitation to purchase" email. This does not include those who are intent on flipping the cards for resale.

that's basically the majority. Most people that had the cash for a higher end card got one already by now between the retailer drops, egg shuffle , ebay etc. The scalped price was always justified by using the gpu for mining. Whoever is left most likely doesnt wanna drop 800+ for a video card or is in the queue for a quick profit. So yes i would imagine that most currently in queue will still buy a card whether they need it or not because they can always flip it on ebay

But can they? Prices are dropping. I don't think it's especially profitable at this point, especially for the pricier cards.

Sorry if this has already been asked but, 1568 pages as the time of writing… EVGA_JacobF Also note that this system will be available for US store first and evaluating for other regions.
Is this still valid? What about us EU people? I got in line for two SKUs in the website and the "My Notifies" webpage in the EU section of the website do correctly report those requests. Will I be notified, when the time comes? Or, in other words, is the sistem in place in EU too, even if the OP seems to say otherwise? Glad you have put this sistem in place, every other AIBs out there should follow your example, if they do care about the gaming community at all.

If u had placed a notify alert on eu.evga.com, from what I understand, u'll get (when the products would be available) an email notification with (presumably) a private link. The link will expire in 8 hours, to give the next in the queue a chance to get its product.

Thanks, let's just hope the queue will get some momentum, I got a Sentry build ready for more than a month by now and I cannot close it (literally, my RX 590 Nitro+ is just a lil' bit too big to close the case) 'cause of the GPU.
