I'm about to venture in to my first gaming keyboard and am considering either the Z15 or the Corsair K70.  I know EVGA makes quality products and I want to support them more overall.  Can anyone suggest pros/cons to either?

(I am not considering the Z20 because I don't like the extra keys on the left of the keyboard)

Well, the K70 has a fair number of switch options, but the z15 has swappable switches, so if you are willing to invest in buying another set of switches, it'd have even more options than the corsair in that regard.
The k70 has low profile options as well, and I'm not sure if the z15 can support low profile switches if you wanted to swap them in.

It'd depend on what you'd want for the most part.

Thanks!  I did see the K70 has low profile switches, does that mean the keys are low like in a chiclet style keyboard?

Not that low. They are still mechanical switches, but they about half the height of a standard cherry MX switch. Here is a picture of that keyboard with the low profiles switches from the side: corsair.com/medias/sys_master/images/images/h36/ha6/9119133663262/-CH-9109017-NA-Gallery-K70-RGB-MK2-LP-12.png (took out hotlink since it got removed).

The K70 also comes with standard height switches.

Keep in mind things like “low profile” keys are not the industry standard Cherry switch style key caps. I will admit that I haven’t looked to see how hard it is to get these key caps replaced but the standard key caps are easy to find replacements for and that is one thing to consider regardless of brand you go with.

The Z15 is a keyboard that literally could last a lifetime and I don’t have any doubt in my mind that the switches and key caps to keep it working will exist for a lifetime.

Thanks Hoggle.  Do the letters on the keys wear off easily?  I am using an old Logitech keyboard right now and the letters tend to wear off after a months of gaming.... and the keys frequently pressed also turn really shiny.

I haven't had an EVGA keyboard for a while, so I can't comment on those. I will comment that I believe the Corsair K100 is one of the best keyboards I've tried to date.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Thanks for the Corsair keyboard input. What about gaming mice, is something like a Dark Core a good compliment to a K70 or a K100?

it all comes down to taste and personal preference mate. But if you want a numbers and scores approach you might wanna check rtings reviews.

Thanks! I'll just have to read up on different mice. Was hoping there would be a store where you could at least feel them, but no one store has every model of a brand on display

Honestly, I believe that corsair has the upper hand as I don't know anyone that uses an EVGA keyboard. However, I do know several individuals that use the keyboard.

Brand preference is such a strange beast.  I've never used EVGA peripherals, but have used 3 Corsair keyboards, and 2 Corsair mice.  All have been excellent.  I have been wondering how the EVGA offerings compare.  I used to use Razer mice, but had multiple fail with less than two years of moderate use.

With the current 50% promo, it would be very much worth trying out EVGA gear if you're in need of a keyboard and mouse. They seem to have good reviews on par with other major brands

This is the move. It's such a good deal. Corsairs software can do more if you're all up in their icue ecosystem. The Corsairs are good keyboards. It's a mechanical switch If you don't hate the looks it will work fine. The value from the evga is really high on Sale. I bought one of their mice for the heck of it since it was only 35 bucks after promo and associate code.

I can't comment on the Evga equipment -but I know I have used a lot of keyboards over many years,  & my Corsairs' have been the best of them.
K68 , K70, K95....plus all the Corsair mice I have used were great too.

But definitely the best way is to try sizes / brands  for your own personal tastes.

I just picked up the Z15 linear version and so far I'm really impressed with it.  Like you, it's my first gaming KB.  I'm coming from a Logitech K120, it is night and day difference while gaming.  Typing is a whole other deal, I'm slowing getting used to.  My buddy let me try his K95 for a couple of weeks and I'm just wasn't a fan of K95.  However like others have stated, it comes down to personal preference.  Any choice would be better than your original KB.  Try going to local Best Buy to try the displays out first.  Good luck and enjoy the new KB!

For those that said you enjoy Corsair keyboards and mice, what mice do you use?  I was looking at the new Sabre Pro, just not sure about the light weight mouse.  I have yet to go to a Best Buy to try them on display (if they have them).

Any Corsair mice suggestions are appreciated!
