The 3090s are under the 3080 product page 30 series product page instead of their own. I wonder if this was on purpose to try to initially trick the scripts for bots to allow some legitimate customers time to purchase?

EDIT:

From the main page they list both the 3080 and 3090, but if you're in the sidebar they don't have the 3090:

The two FTW3 editions remained in stock for several minutes after the launch. I was even able to put one in my cart and start going through the checkout. I didn't intend to purchase one, but was just curious to see how far I could get.

Hoping they throw more 3080s in stock after the initial 3090 launch.

Zero size error and road cones of destruction since launch day of 3080 until all the bots leave. Then I can see the 1 I was able to put in my cart but it's to late

I think they've had elite? But yeah, i didn't see the 3080, exclusively for elite. Just 3090.

I hope they try to trick them. Botting is so bad right now that legitimate customers are botting, and I don't blame them. It's an arms race.

What if I said that one's entire life had been decided by fate? That every single one of your actions, from the minute to the monumental, stemmed not from your own choices, but had already been decided upon? That life being a journey of limitless possibilities was but an illusion, and no matter how fiercely man struggled, he stood at the mercy of a long-established path? The wealthy shall know their riches. The needy shall starve on the streets. The wicked shall be wicked, the righteous just. The beautiful, the hideous, the strong, the frail, the fortunate, the miserable... and finally, the victors and the defeated. What if I said that all such things had been carved into stone eons ago, allowing for no divergence? If so, sinners have nothing to answer for, nor do saints have any true virtue to their name. What if I said that not a single action is carried out of one's own volition, but had been decided long ago? That we are merely adrift in the current of time? Tell me, would yo

I'd never bot, selfish desire to get something na0w to just contribute towards the problem for others isn't worth it.

you either bot, waste dozens of hours of your life and have a 1/100+ chance of getting a card, or give up and wait a month. I don't really see any other options, getting a card legitimately is not viable, and it isn't because people are too slow, it's because of bots.

Why couldn’t a system like ticket sales be placed? That once you have the product in your cart that item is locked in for a set time till you finish your order??

the problem with this concept is that it actually would benefit bots, a lot. bots are the ones who can instantaneously add things to the cart, after all. it may seem like it would make your experience better, because 'I HAD IT IN MY CART, WHY CANT IT BE RESERVED?' but, in reality, if they reserved carts, you never would get it in your cart again.

Adding the ticket system and the elite system (removing the 100 post option) will ensure those of elite status and loyalty can gain access to these cards. More challenges would cause bot issues too. More manual input methods.

doubt they'll have the man power to supply that level if service. Automated verified text message with authorization codes are more capable.

Give people the opportunity to verify their humanity ahead of time using photo ID. This wouldn't be required to purchase, but people with verified accounts get priority over unverified accounts. Set a time where verified people can queue to make their purchase. Limit purchases to one per card, per address, per account.

like all these companies; they spend time putting in all this "protection" or "optimization" and it just falls apart.

What if your account get's compromised? They can't be reassured that you're a malicious user who does use a bot. The only thing that they can do with a photo id is verify your address with the shipping/billing to limit one unit per household.
