EVGA long story short I got a brand new x299 dark from the eBay store page brand new, but one pin is slightly off as I inspected the condition of the board. I have did not install a cpu yet as the 9800X is not out yet for sale. I am glad I checked before waiting the cpu came out. The pin isn’t off enough to compromise the socket from working with the cpu, but it’s not quality to have a customer have such an expensive board to be slightly out on a pin. I am worried if down the line I decide the sell this x299 board no one would want to buy it and this pin could compromise resale value even though I’m sure it still works fine. I would like to do a swap with a brand new x299 board if possible under a warranty claim. Not a refurbished United also. I am glad I inspected the board before anything else! Friendly reminder to all EVGA members to inspect your items the second you inbox them!

Did the CPU Socket Cover come off in shipping to you or was the Cover in place?
It is a heavy box that is for sure.

Why not contact support directly? If you contact support directly, you can discuss your options to proceed with your build or replace the board right away. Furthermore, it will guarantee that EVGA documents this as a known issue on your board to expedite any RMA if it is necessary.

    Hello,

Just to start off, I would like to iterate that bent pins actually void the warranty for the board. Please see: https://www.evga.com/warranty/motherboards/
    • Damaged or bent CPU socket pins.
The socket of the motherboards are adequately protected during manufacturing, and are inspected many times. If you have not done so already, I would get in contact with us directly with pictures of the pins so that we can visually look at them. You can open a support ticket or send us an email. We can look further into this for you to see if there is anything that can be done! :)
