More pictures in the source. The mATX will retail at $250 and the Classified at $400. The DIMM slot covers will be white, there will be I/O covers and the aluminum heatpipe in the Classified will be anodized black in retail models. Needless to say, I am pretty excited about the Classified for sure!

I actually like the grayed out E on the FTW chipset heatsink instead of the red one on the Classified. It would be nice if these were interchangeable inserts like the rings on the Corsair SP120 fans.

I'm hoping the EVGA X99 FTW is $300 or less.

Seems to be $280 based on that link above. If so, I would love to see what the extra $120 gets us on the Classified.

From what I can see you get an extra two M.2 slots on the Classified model.

Depending on the reviews that mATX could very well be my next upgrade. I have no rush though, I can wait till next May...

Kudos to EVGA, for not forgetting mATX :)

Edit: I have to add though, if ASUS comes with Gryphon X99, I'll stick to that :)

Nice... I will probably get the x99 FTW.  I do not care about the M.2 Ports.  Hopefully EVGA will have these boards on launch day.

+1, it does look very nice.  That said, regarding the add-in slot configuration which is now dependent on the CPU, seeing how the i7-5820K has only 28 lanes to split up.

I might be the minority, but I don't like the big red E. I also know I stated Asrock had too many stickers and brand naming and this one has just too little. There looks to be two holographic x99 stickers, a faint EVGA writing on the top of the heatsink, and the big red E. Nothing to state it is the classified variant or anything. Oh well guess that's where the waterblocks come into hide all that anyways. Also don't like the white RAM thingies can't think of the name. Hopefully they will change a few more things though. It states they are already changing the aluminium tube to anodized so maybe more to come?

See post 9 for retail model photos. I also want the big red E to be more of the gray as on the FTW model myself but if Nateman is going to make custom blocks again then I am all for it.

ah missed that, well that resolved the white RAM holders. I have contacted Nateman about doing a classified x99 block. He is just waiting on my board to get to him when they go on sale. So there is a good chance of Nateman doing the block.

Ya, these 3 models are it. The x79 Dark was a response to the x79 Classified that just wasn't very good.

what vsg28 said, and I believe it was on Jacobs twitter that there was only 3 x99's planned. The x79 Dark was a single time thing, in response of the horrible x79 classifieds. They could't use the x79 classified name as it was disgraced, even the k3 variation that fixed most of the issue didn't sell because it was called the classified.

Well for what it is all worth I really like my X79 Dark AND my 2 X79 Classified Motherboards.
My next round was a X99 Classified Dark Version of my DartTitan. Well for the lot of us we will have to wait and see.

Wouldn't that be incentive to rebrand the lineup and ditch the "Classified" name altogether since it could affect X99, how would people react to another EVGA Classified board?  But "Classified" works on their other products, as opposed to a "GeForce GTX880 Dark"

now I am no marketing genius and I am limited to only 3 college marketing classes and 4 psych so I am extremely limited on this.

but yes it would make sense to ditch the classified branding. as classified x79 boards have left a bad opinion. the thing is that classified is unique and easilly to identify. you see a classified product you know its evga.

dark on the other hand is very meek branding as it can be confused. we have seen black, dark, and I think even obsidian and ebony motherboards. we already know msi is releasing a black x99 branded mobo. Asus has hinted at a new blackout x99 but no confirmation.

let's also look at the past x79 classy came out and left a bad taste. Evga told us a new x79 dark would come. they released the z87 classy and also released the z97 classy both of which were considered success's. now this was after classified was disgraced and evga knew it but kept the branding. this shows that they will continue to use classified branding.

finally the announced it as the x99 classified and labeled it as such at gamescom. so this is no rumor but is going to happen. judging by the fact that these boards are already in production they will not change the name between now and sale date. evga is also a small company so they can't produce 8 versions of x99 like asus can and noremally stick to 3. x boards gets a matx/atx/eatx. and z boards get mitx/atx/eatx.

so that's my thoughts on the whole keeping branding or rebranding subject. Personally I think its best to keep the classified branding. people still remember x58 classys and the z87 and z97 have renewed but not totally recovered the branding. if x99 proves its worth then the classified name will be saved. the dark branding will only come out during dark times of evga history.

sorry grammar/spelling Nazis I typed this on my phone so don't butcher me to much.

I might have to wait until late 2015 to get mine operational. I am disappointing of the rumored 880's and will wait for 980's or 880ti's. This will also let me upgrade to a 6960x instead of 5960x. Also moving to korea put a dampener on my plans. I had to refrain from ordering a Caselabs S8 and building the liquid cooling system.

I have to wait anyways for nateman to design/develop/produce the waterblocks anyways. In the mean time I will order the case, radiators, pumps and start designing the outline of a water system. Maybe also convince nateman to make some classy 880 or 980 waterblocks.
