I am in the process of RMAing a 750W G2. They send me a 750W G5, which is an FSP unit that is widely regarded as an unworthy successor to the G2/G3 Superflower units. The G5 is a result of cost cutting and this is a sentiment that's shared across online boards. You can even find G5 disappointment threads here in EVGA's forum. I contacted support and called them and the guy said the G5 is newer and gold rated so it's better in their eyes and they don't have G2/G3 in stock. He goes on to say these power supplies are all the same and will work in any computer, the only difference being some connectors or color. They get back to me a week later and offers me a G1+, another inferior FSP unit. I mean come on. They think a G1+ is an equal or better unit than the G2? Their support thinks a G5 is better than a G2 because 5 > 2. So by their logic, 2 should be > 1+. I get that the G2/G3 isn't in stock and I'm willing to wait to get a replacement since my unit isn't exactly dead, but they're doing everything in their power to give me a worse power supply.
