We should put together an EVGA Folding hall of fame. I've been on this team for 10 years and seen some great folders like mmillion come and go. We should honor those who put So much into this team.

Folding whatever I can :o)

I approve of this, but have no idea how you'd qualify it.

There is already a Top 25 on the EVGA folding main page.

I think what you are talking about is a historical record of each member's highest ranking for the team at any given time, even if they have dropped from that spot now.
Don't know if that data even exists.

Most hall of fames are quite subjective in their requirements - The only one I can honstly think of that has a HARD minimum is the Rock N Roll HOF where you have to have been active for 25 years or so before you can be nominated?

I'm SURE there are others, but it's more a recognition of what the individuals brought to the table for the group they are setting up the recognition for.

What is it that the individual did for EVGA's folding/crunching teams that you think deserves special recognition?  Start there.

Love this idea and just want to toss my first thought out there....

The points we generated the first few years, can be done in a week or so now. I would feel uncomfortable not recognizing those original efforts as well.

Maybe do it like the NFL does it. "Pre" super bowl era and post.  Or some way to demonstrate the exceptional now us equal to then. Just the points generated with the advancements in Tech are causing the points to look different between the two.

And of course, length of "service" could be a category.

I know it’s hard to quantify but there were so many that have paved the way And gave so much to this team. It’s just a thought to recognize their work. Might not be enough of us still around that can remember all of them.

Maybe a category could be called Founders? Or "Charter" members?

Same. I'd have no idea how to go about it other than time... quantity of WUs and even raw points doesn't mean a lot. My 1080 Ti can fold in a day with 5 projects what took months and 10,000 projects to do 13 years ago. Used to be ~255 points per WU, with four of them running concurrently on a Q6600. It's still mind-boggling how much F@H has changed, and continues to change even now.

As I have folded for two teams over the years wonder how that would work out.

Recognizing the heavy lifting is good, yes, but how do you quantify the good for our team that zerran2001 or troy8d have done with the contests they ran?

You really can't, yet, if there is going to be an EVGA Folding@Home Hall of Fame, those are the first two names I'd nominate, hands down, every time.

There's going to have to be a nomination process of some sort, open discussion and all that.  As to what set's the minimum for the allowance OF that nomination, that's a whole other ball of wax.

This thread got me thinking of the why we fold thread and to my horror I can not find it anymore. That so called cleanup of the folding section really borked a lot of great information.

I threw together a list of people to give a shout out to, but I'd feel bad posting because I'm sure I've missed far too many people along the way.

Great ideas, but also I think honoring those team members who are no longer with us.  I know there are 2 or 3 people that have gone and from time to time people will fold under their Keys.  If those people mean that much to you, they you fold for them.  They should be in there.   I'm sorry I can't find their names.

    I would definitely have to agree that zerran2001 , troy8d & D be nominated.
    Also, https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-Folding-Hall-of-Fame-Who-should-be-on-IT-m1465019.aspx
    should be looked at.
ldalsgard who has been making me open my windows lately has completed 576,718 WU's for team eVGA (#1)
on another note, helpful members on the forums come to mind like bcav, tank, bill1024, yodap, coolgtx, etc etc (I know I left out a lot forgive me).
    Those we have lost,
    https://forums.evga.com/F...une-23rd-m2482701.aspx
    & others.
I think with all the want of a 2020 TZC and no one able to take command,  maybe we can fold for those we have lost creating teams in accordance to their time zones and create a hall of famer each year that way.
    just a thought

I agree it would be cool to see the top 25 list like a high score list. Then we can see how we stack up to previous generations of hardware when we upgrade.
