Any idea on cost or some pictures of at least the I/O on the FTW board?

I've been wondering why there's no I/O shots.

I've been waiting for pictures and specs. I could settle for a high res picture of the final design board so I can read the labels.
Of course a manual would be best

$429 is a bit higher than I think it should be and I am not sure why it's got 6 Sata ports and limited rear panel USB's.

IMO, trade off 2 sata ports for 4 more USB ports and the board would be right where it needs to be.  With it's 3 M.2 slots and the fact that NVME and SSD prices are essentially equal now for normal consumer sizes that combination should be enough for damn near everyone and still allow rear panel IO that better competes.  I think I am less of an outlier in wanting at least 8 USB ports on the rear IO.

There's also a USB 3.2 G2 A-key header on the board...I'm not super familiar with those, but it seems maybe some new cases come with that for the front panel? idk.

I know but IMO that port even if it's full speed on the case is not a replacement for multiple rear ports. Additionally, that is not something that all the other Z590 boards don't also have.  I registered for the que, but if I'm honest it's looking like I'll stay with my Asus Maximus XII Formula as that rear IO is more fitting my needs.

Sorry if it sounded like I was trying to talk you into it. I just didn't know what that was until some of the new pictures came out today. If it isn't going to work for you, that is unfortunate. On a side note: I am also a huge Neebs Gaming fan (per your avatar) and have been following them for many years.

I tried to click on the link in the first 24 hours, but it did not work.  What is going on with this updated modified Elite that is not discounts of links for us long time Elite members, but only their friends?  So disappointed.

All good, I didn't read into your tone or anything.  I know that I'm not the only consumer, so I am sure others would want different I/O and/or features.

And it's always good to see another that appreciates the Neebs crew.  Been watching them since Battlefield Friends and think they're great.

I wish they would release a top tier motherboard in a pure/lean/stripped/ variant that just had a single PCIE, a couple of M.2s, two ram dimms, a single NIC.....  like when a race car strips off junk to save gross weight and gain speed.  Just strip of everything that isn't 100% needed to game on.

They pack stuff on these mobos that I never use and disable manually.  I wish I didn't need to pay for it.  Actually, my idea is sort of like the motherboard on the new xbox series x.  there is nothing extra there.  I haven't used a CD/DVD player or a SATA HDD in many many years now.

I get what you're saying but stripping it down much more then the Z series dark would mean that they need to charge a bunch more as the board is basically not really mass marketable as it won't compare spec wise with other Z series boards.  At the end of the day they need to hit a price point and feature set that stands up to the other offerings in the market.

I get disabling a bunch of things on the board and I do the same to the point that I haven't taken wifi antennas out of their packaging in 6 years worth of motherboards.

Honestly my only gripe as of now is I wish they had two less sata ports in favor of more rear panel USB.

If you are not an Elite member you cannot register for auto-notify during the first 24 hours. That is one of the advantages of being an Elite member. After that 24 hour period, it then opens up to everyone to register to be notified when stock becomes available. When stock is available, emails will be sent out in the order that people registered to be notified. That email will have a link in it. You have 8 hours to click that link and place your order, or you miss out and have to register for auto-notify again and go to the back of the queue.

No emails have been sent out yet to place an order. None. The only emails sent out so far were to confirm when you registered to be notified when the board becomes available.

If you mean the little box didn't come up to enter your name and email address to register for auto-notify, then either you are not an Elite member and it was still the first 24 hours, or you maybe have some sort of popup blocker that might stop the little form opening to register. Try a different browser, but I have pop-up blockers and it doesn't stop me registering.

They want to appeal to the broadest market they can with one board, so they still allow you to disable what you don't want to use (WiFi, Bluetooth etc.) - makes more sense to have the extras and allow them to be disabled than to not have them at all, then you'd have heaps of people complaining because they wanted one or more of those options. Of course that bumps up the expense overall, but I'm sure they did their homework and figured it was more economical to do it this way and leave it up to the user to disable/enable what they want than to manufacture a whole bunch of different boards that are fundamentally the same.

Having said all that, I would like to see EVGA start putting out mini-ITX boards again, which are basically the stripped down version you are talking about. It's been a while since EVGA made a Stinger model... maybe next iteration. I just purchased an ASUS Z490i mini-ITX for my Mrs' next build - I'll be dropping an i7-10700K in it with a 120mm AiO, 2 x 16GB 3600MHz ram, EVGA 850T2 PSU, and an EVGA RTX 2070 Super (which is the last of the blower models it seems) - should be quite the little beast.

I think I am missing the target audience for the FTW. It's lacking a few of the more standard features on mainstream Z-590 gaming boards.

Like what? It has literally everything I need and then some. I would probably be very happy with the Dark as well, but that will be even more expensive, is another month out probably, and has even more features I probably won't use. I'd rather have the extreme OC folks get their hands on that board and show me pictures/bench results lol

My thoughts exactly. I about bought it but the rear I/O is the deal breaker. I'd be using every single usb input w/none to spare.

My option to buy email just got to me, and I am waffling on my choice, I've got an Asus Z490 Formula with 10 Rear panel USB ports and I am not sure I want to give that up.
