EVGA, get your crap together on the RTX 3000 Series Step-Up. Not Everyone wants that big ass FTW3 video card, not everyone can use it and you're killing your customer base. Get one of the XC3 models of each card added to Step-Up or you have lost me as a customer and I mean what I say. This is a bunch of crap, get it fixed.

I get what you're saying, cause yes it is a huge and bulky card. But they are offering a better card than the XC3. So I know it may be annoying, but personally I'd rather get a new case and be able to use a better card with better OC, especially when its part of the step up program and they technically don't have to offer any of the 30 series cards considering they say limited stock items may not be on the list and these 3080s are definitely low stock right now.

Personally I think EVGA's selection of step-up is very good and also remember that EVGA is one of the very few companies that do step-up at all.

No I won't spend extra money to buy another case or give up the case I love just to accommodate an EVGA card. If I have to lose money because of EVGA, I'll dump the 2080 Super Hydro Copper card and I'll go buy a card that will fit in my case with a waterblock.

I don't care what you think, you don't own my case. EVGA's FTW3 offering is utter crap to a lot of customers, we can not freaking use it. There have been multiple post about this issue and EVGA is ignoring their customers. Ignore me and you lose me as a customer, it's unacceptable.

Just sell the FTW3 and get whatever you want. This nets you full retail on your used component and then you will have a high demand card to do what you want with it. You are right though, the tiny case people on here are a very angry bunch reminds me of the ultrawide user group demanding that they are the majority market so they have to have their way all the time.

Most of the time they have barely put the top models for step up, except now, which I'm happy for. When they didn't, people complained why only the lower tier cards where in the step up, now they put a higher nice tier one, people still complain. JC, can't never please everybody.

EVGA's Step-Up is supposed to allow me to step up to a better card then the one I currently have as long as I don't have the top dog card. Right now EVGA is not living up to their end of their program to offer me a card I can use. EVGA does have a card I can use, but refuses to honor their own program. Don't offer the program if you're not willing to stand by the program. That's not entitlement, that's expecting a company to honor their own program to every customer, not just those with a big enough case to fit the oversized FTW3 card into.

    Kram,

Best bet, step up to the FTW3, sell it, buy the XC, and save the rest of the cash.

Use your brain on this one. If the card doesn’t fit in your case, use the card to get a new card.

You can sell the FTW3 for far more than the value of the XC, so....

I’m sure EVGA has a reason for not including the baseline card this round, once the rarely include anything but the baseline cards. Even reviewers have been taking about how NVidia has really screwed the pooch on this launch, and imposing tons of new rules, and I would venture to guess that NVidia may be at least partially at fault for this.

Random Associate Code >> GDWZE7QOTF << this is NOT my associate code. I do not have an associate code. Feel free to use it to save a few bucks.

I already have the my card in Step-Up for the FTW3 card and plan to do exactly as you stated, but should I seriously have to do all that crud and be a scalper too? No I should not and EVGA should be offering the XC3 card so every EVGA customer has a proper Step-Up path.

Also with all this 20 GB RTX 3080 talk going on, if such a card does come out and I'm still waiting for the FTW3 card that I could never use in the first place, what will it's worth be? I may actually lose more money by the end of that deal.

There were a lot of forums members asking for a step-up to cards higher than what EVGA was previously asking for (factory standard). Personally I think this is top notch from EVGA.

This entire thread should just disappear.  The entitlement here is exceedingly high and unnecessary.  No one else offers full paid value for your card and you pay the MSRP difference to upgrade to what EVGA is offering.  People getting mad cause their choice of cards is not listed in the upgrade.  What a sad day.

While I think eVGA doesn't even have to offer a step-up program, in that it DOES exist, I see nothing wrong with asking for different cards to be
offered thru it. I don't see it as entitlement. I See it as a chance to expand choices for new and existing loyal customers. Frankly it's a win win...

Oh yeah, I agree.  There are better ways to ask for cards to be added.  The language used by OP is not indicative of that.  OP is basically screaming orders at EVGA to do it or they'll lose their customer base.  That's just a stupid comment.

I'm not sure I understand this.... what size are you needing ? ,.. because all these 30x series cards are triple fan- huge behemoths .

    I'm only seeing a 1/2 " difference in length  &  1" in height  . ( between the XC3 & FTW3 )

I personally am looking for a 2 fan config ( like the Nvidia FE version ) and it seems not any seller is making one yet.  I either will wait for one or keep trying for the Founder Edition

Although it's just getting repetitive at this point, I think this thread calls for support of EVGA. At first its was like "IF you dont offer step up next gen cards before their release date then you're going to loose your customer base!" to "if you don't offer next gen cards once their released you're going to loose your customer base!" to "IF YOU DON'T OFFER EVERY SINGLE NEXT GEN CARD VARIANT THEN YOU'RE GOING TO LOOSE YOUR CUSTOMER BASE!".

Geez, give them a break. If I was EVGA I'd pull this program. Sounds like way more hassle then what its worth for the money. The main point is they upheld their end of the bargain by offering a step up to a newly released card. If it doesn't work for YOU then it sounds like a YOU problem.

EVGA could have easily said the 3080/3090 are just not part of the step-up program due to the insane demand and lack of supply. I think people should stop complaining.

The step-up program is great and likely something you won't see from many companies (if any) in the future..

I love the irony of a bunch of sub 50 post users telling a near 17,000 post user he's wrong.
I completely agree with the OP, You don't advertise an sell a product with a promise of ANYTHING (step-up included) and then not honor that promise.
You can argue "entitlement" until you're blue in the face but the facts are a promise was made, and that promise is not being honored.
As a business owner myself I think evga has really dropped the ball on this. They had a chance to be a bright spot in this crapshow of a 30xx launch. It looks like they just decided to fall in with the crowd though.

Right. That means EVGA got a bunch of new customers compared to losing one angry entitled one.

wow, just realized the amount of posts.. that's about 4 posts per day. Doesn't change the issue, step-up FAQ makes no specific promise to what card or when they will be available.. We very well could not have had anything available for weeks or months.

I must of missed the promise that there was going to be multi variants available? Care to share?

Oh yeah, I agree.  There are better ways to ask for cards to be added.  The language used by OP is not indicative of that.  OP is basically screaming orders at EVGA to do it or they'll lose their customer base.  That's just a stupid comment.

I have, but I see you didn't read thru this thread.... https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-Please-Add-Other-3080-Cards-beside-the-FTW3-m3082772.aspx

While I think eVGA doesn't even have to offer a step-up program, in that it DOES exist, I see nothing wrong with asking for different cards to be offered thru it. I don't see it as entitlement. I See it as a chance to expand choices for new and existing loyal customers. Frankly it's a win win...

    Exactly!

    aka_STEVE_b
I'm not sure I understand this.... what size are you needing ? ,.. because all these 30x series cards are triple fan- huge behemoths .

    I'm only seeing a 1/2 " difference in length  &  1" in height  . ( between the XC3 & FTW3 )

I personally am looking for a 2 fan config ( like the Nvidia FE version ) and it seems not any seller is making one yet.  I either will wait for one or keep trying for the Founder Edition

    * and the smallest  Asus Tuf card that I see  is  11.80" x 4.99"  x  2.7 slot

It's about how wide the card is. I water cool my video card and just the normal width of the card would barley fit in my case, add the waterblock ports and there is ZERO chance the card will fit in my case.

    1) There is 0 pre-requisite requirements to read another thread if said thread was never referenced.  That's on you, but you were civil in the other thread, so I'll give you that.
    2) EVGA hasn't outright said that the XC3 won't be added at a later time.  It's all about availability per their program rules and FAQ.  This launch was unprecedented and we're in 2020...nothing has gone right.  We're barely a week in from the 3080 launch...give EVGA some time to take a breath from this madness we're all witnessing on the retail side.  They honestly don't deserve a beating on the Step-Up side when they're already getting a ton on the other.  Newegg, Amazon, Nvidia, Best Buy...they're all getting hammered with angry would-be customers, but only on 1 front compared to what EVGA is dealing with.  (although I think NewEgg is getting hammered for take down notices about their EVGA combos that wouldn't work well...)
