I have started to finally build my system.  However, I keep getting a 68 code.  I have check seating of the memory.  I have checked the processor socket.  I found one bent pin.  I think I was able to realign the pin.  Once I reconnected everything I have successfully booted up, but then it will always seen to revert to a 68 code and hang.  I have repeated the process a number of time.  Each time it seams to work but then it always reverts to the code 68.
I checked the power cable.  I unplugged the cable from the UPS and plugged it into the wall socket.

Serial number of the Corsair Vengeance LPX Memory 2x8GB 3000MHz CMK16GX4M2B3000C15.  I didn't see it listed on the approved list.  Could this be the problem?

I thought I was seeing 68, I suppose it could be 6B as well.

3000mhz ram doesn't jive well with this MB because it changes the BCLK.  You want to keep your BCLK at 100.  3000mhz ram does not keep it at 100.  You'll need either 2666mhz or 3200mhz ram for that.

Nice to see one more owner of X99 platform. Last Intel normal Extreme platform.

We can joke little because life is to sad near EVGA X299 Dark and we have X99.
I hope you will resolve problems, X99 fit perfect with 2666 and 3200MHz memory.
That's one of reason why I didn't keep 2800 even if he was stable.
Best advice is to drop clock to 2666MHz and try to compensate slow down with tighter latency.
In some cases that's very successfull and you could back good part of performance, almost all sometimes.

I had the same error code (Error 68) for a few days on my Classified too, and i tried pretty much anything i could think of to make it boot again.

I had tried the following to no avail:
    -Reseating the CPU and RAM
-Cleaning the pads under the CPU with Isopropyl alcohol + blowing out the socket with compressed air
-Tightening the 4 screws that holds the socket retention mechanism (they had become a little loose over the last few years)

What ended up fixing it for me was clearing the Cmos by pressing the little red button above the Power button on the board.
