Does this address the Z15 randomly not starting up with the system? All other USB devices work fine on boot, except the keyboard. I have to manually unplug it and plug it in about 2/5 boots.

Oddly when I clicked on the keyboard after installing it said a new firmware available. I am pretty sure I updated it for 1.16 since I recall posting about having to click on the keyboard to do the firmware check. Any word on the changes on the keyboard side? I was expecting the new firmware for the mouse but I am using an X20 at the moment.

Audio wheel problem on my Z15 (going all the way to 100% or 0% upon doing any adjustment) persists just like in the previous firmware version.
On windows happens occasionally, on Linux (Pop!_OS 22.04) constantly. Also when the problem occurs i just need to press any key for the keyboard to stop spamming the volume command, but on the window currently focused I'm not able to type anything until I Alt+tab or minimize it.

Thanks for the update but I'm also still having the volume wheel issue on my Z15. Please investigate and fix asap as it almost makes the keyboard unusable.

Confirmed here as well -- The Z15 runaway volume wheel issue is still not fixed in this version. :-(

The Unleash software forced a firmware update when I simply tried to setup some macros on my Z15. The firmware update broke my volume wheel. Now I need to be super careful that it doesn't 100% and blow out my eardrums. :(

I have this issue that when I turn on my computer keyboard sometimes doesnt start up. I have to constantly keep pressing a key during windows boot up to make sure the keyboard will be recognized by windows and start up.
Also when windows boot up and keyboard is not working I get a message on device manager under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" that says "UNKOWN USB DEVICE (Device Descriptor Requested Failed)"
Hope this new update fix this annoying issue

Also having problem of keyboard not being recognized about 50% of the time when I start the computer. I have to unplug it and plug it back in. I also try to tap the keys when I start the computer to "help", but I'm not sure if it actually helps. Has there been any acknowledgement of this problem by EVGA?

@bnk5050 I used to have that problem all the time and found it happened much less often when plugged into a USB 2.0 port.

Oddly, I haven't had the problem now in several months. I guess it just went away on its own (when I wore winter sweaters, the static electricity would frequently zap the keyboard - maybe that somehow fixed it for me?).

My main issue with the Z20 is the RGB does not stay to what I set it to.
And then randomly lights up half the keyboard in purple and blue.

It would be nice to at least hear that they have confirmed the problem and are working on it.  I had to re-map my scroll lock and pause/break buttons to control volume until they fix it.  The volume roller bug makes it too risky to use without possibly blasting me out of my chair.

Huh... well dang. I wish I'd thought of that. I'll actually remap the forward/rewind media keys instead but that's a great idea for now until the wheel is fixed.

    Thanks.

No update on the disconnection problems for z15 keyboard?
Just as reminder it only happens when booting computer, usually on loading windows screen. keyboard boot up normal on bios but when windows starts it goes off (as usual) but then it doesnt back on (usually goes off and on, same as the mouse)

    My specs ASRock z590 steel legend. connected on all usb's (2.0 / 3.0 / 3.1 / 3.2) it's the same problem

Agreed - EVGA, please confirm if you've at least identified the issue. It's a huge bug that came from recent updates and has potential to blow peoples ear drums out.

I am also having the volume wheel problem going all the way to 100% or 0% on the z15 keyboard. Many people on reddit are also having the same problem.

I have just stopped using the volume wheel.  Seems like they aren't fixing it anytime soon.  Never had a keyboard with so many firmware updates.  They have overdone it.  Please fix this...

Based on this situation in general, I'm thinking it might be time to dump the Z15 and move on to something else.  Aside from these recent volume wheel issues, I am not finding the hot swap to be very robust with lots of movement in the switches and intermittent double presses on some keys regardless of swapping out the switch with new ones.

Anyone have suggestions for a decent full-sized hot-swap keyboard with a built-in volume wheel?  I haven't seen many out there.  It seems everything it TKL, which is very frustrating for those of us who still use a numpad on a daily basis.

Edit:  After posting about my double press issue above, I decided to repair the keys giving me problems.  I opened the keyboard just now and discovered that the hot swap mounts are only soldered to one side of the PCB.  The other side is glued on with some sort of adhesive.  If this glue breaks free, the hotswap mount will move around slightly and eventually the small trace that goes to the diode will fatigue and go intermittent or fail completely.  The cause was the same for both of my intermittent keys.  To fix, I scraped the conformal coating off the broken end of each loose trace and then rejoined it to its diode with fresh solder.  It's now working again without issue.  Keep this in mind if you run into similar problems with your Z15.

How difficult was it to take appart the keyboard ? I swapped mouse switches in the past and i'm wondering if its going to be as difficult a job as that so that i can commit to it.
