A few years ago I bought an EVGA Supernova 550 G2, which came with one molex connector for the power supply. At the time of purchase, I did not have additional fans, however now, I have one fan I would like to plug in with a molex adaptor. When I tried to plug the molex cable into the power supply, it did not slide in. To be sure, I tried the SATA sockets as well, to no avail. It will slide in for about half the length of the plug before stopping, as if it was blocked. The SATA power cable for my hard drive fits fine. Is this a known issue?

After looking at the psu pictures it appears it isn't suppose to go into the psu. It's an adapter for a gpu. I'm surprised it came with your psu.

That is not Meant to be plugged into a Power Supply of ANY Make or Model it is for a Graphics Card.

It is use to connect 2 Male Molex Connectors to Create a Single 6-Pin Graphics Card PCIe Connector.
So you would use your Current 4-Pin Molex Cable from your Power Supply and plug in 2 connectors to the 2 Female 4-Pin Molex on the item in the Photo then plug the other end into your Graphics Card that uses a 6-Pin Connector.

Umm, what's in your photos is a Dual Molex to 6-Pin PCIe adapter for a graphics card.

Oh, that explains that. I assumed it was the cable, because it was in the box I left marked with all the cables. It seems that the original molex cable never came with the supply, then.

Most likely came with one of your Graphics Cards back in the day.
Mine came with 2 adaptors back in the Day that is.

The cable that has 4-Pin Molex connectors on it that goes into your PSU should be labeled PERIF in white letters on the connector..Look in the bag of PSU cables again.

I have the bag but cannot find that one. I suppose it might have been lost, but I'm fairly certain I put everything in this box.
