Why is EVGA shipping to Canada so pricy.  Many third parties will ship for free or tack on $5 ot $10 from US to Canada, EVGA... pretty much $50 ($70 CAD) for everything. This makes the step-up program kinda of pointless in Canada.  It's more economical (but much less convienient) to sell the old card on eBay and just buy whatever we'd like to upgrade to from a retailer.
 
It doesn't just suck for Step-up, either.  There has been 2 or 3 times I would of liked some B-Stock but that shipping charge...
 
On a related note, I was shocked when the Powerlink was $9.99 with free shipping.

Wait, does that mean you have to pay to ship your old card and pay again for shipping the new card from Step-up? Never done Step-up before but I'm Canadian too and I was thinking about it. The iCX upgrade was only one way (pay to ship the old card).

You definitely have to pay to ship the new card.  That's $50 USD (At least to Alberta). I'm not sure if they give you a shipping label to return your old card.  I would assume you have to pay that yourself too.

Yes...you pay both ways...cost me 80 bux Canadian to ship my old card to EVGA.50.00 US for return shipping....

 
$80 to ship your old one down there? How did you ship it? Should only be like $20 - 25 with tracking?

For me to use Xpresspost it costs $60 first time and $69 the second time, although that was with a bigger box. But yea, the step-up cost me $69 cdn to ship my ICX to them and then another $71.56 usd ($20 for step-up, $51.56 shipping). So about $165, of which $140 is shipping.
 
But yes it does kind of suck that we are getting the high shipping costs. I don't mind the option being there, but it would be nice if there was at least a cheaper option. I mean that is basically the price as if a person off the street mailed using UPS, as a business with an account, they should be able to get better pricing.
 
I know there have been many times I have not bought something because it ends up being just too much because of the shipping. Almost was the case with the step-up, but the price drop on the cards meant it is harder to get a good price so it was still worth it.

Wow.  That is no fun at all. With $140 bucks shipping it's still cheaper than selling your old card privately and buying a new one?  The price drops are at all the retailers...

Honestly if the 1080's hadn't dropped in price then yea I think it would have been cheaper to just sell and then buy new. But considering what I could get for the cards I don't think it would have been worth it, well maybe, close I think. Although once both of my cars are done and I have my 2 1080ti's I'll total it all up and see how much they really cost.

There are other options. As an example take NCIX. Their prices are very reasonable in my personal opinion for Canada. If you seek out other EVGA sellers in Canada you might be able to find an even better price.

Oh, we know.  It's definilty cheaper to buy in Canada or places like B&H rather than EVGA direct.  It's the step-up program that is essentially useless, simply because of the shipping costs.

For the record we only charge in shipping what UPS charges us.
