EVGA SC17 windows update error

I can't update windows on my SC17 (gtx1070). This error always pops up when I try to update: 0x800f081f. I did try to reset windows and the Windows update components and nothing works. I also had some weird pixel noise before Windows boot, but that seems to be fixed by a BIOS update.

    Hello again and thanks for a fast reply. So it started updating, rebooted and said couldn't update so it rolled back the update. Now in the windows update it sees the update, start do download and install but there is no reboot to install the update and when pressing again to check for updates sees the update and starts downloading it again over and over..... But still in installed updates says the update is installed.

    I'd suggest using system restore to restore your computer to a day when everything was working without issues, then try updating windows again.

    So I did a fresh start of windows and it helped. Thanks Sajin for a quick reply and team EVGA overall.

    As in fresh install? This same update is doing the same thing to me. It is stated on MS site that it is a known issue(good job MS). Looks like I'downloading 250GB of games again. sux to be me

    No, actually all of my personal files I had and some windows settings remained untouched.

    I forgot i still had windows on usb so I did it with that. Started a fresh install and there was an upgrade option that it said to do while booted in windows, probably the same thing in your picture. I kept everything including games.

    Since the Creators Update, there's a feature called Fresh Start within Windows Defender that can re-install the latest version while keeping your personal files. It actually works really nicely in a pinch. Only requirement is an internet connection since it needs to fetch the latest version of Windows. So offline devices will have to stick to either doing a manual re-installation, or the "Reset this PC" recovery feature in the Settings app.
