Hi, I got some issues with my laptop which like a lot of other sc15 owner tends to heat. Until a month or two ago the only problem was the fan noise but I guess it's the trade off to play game with a laptop but lately the polymer started to blow. Here are some pictures to illustrate the problem: Left from the track pad the surface isn't flat anymore but curved On the keyboard some keys look pressed in the middle of the keyboard like the "J". And yesterday I heard a big noise an here is what happened Now there is a big hole between the two polymer pieces. Hopefully eveything still work fine but it's sad for a less than 2 years computer to look like that. I will try to look with my reseller if they can do anything for me as it still under warranty but I don't know if it can be covered. Just wanted to highlight this issue here and hope evga can improve this in future. Regards

That is the battery expanding. Talk to EVGA support about getting it replaced. I would suggest not using it much, or charging it much, because it could cause more problems.

TY to point this. :-) Didn't think about that. I will check with my reseller/evga how to fix this.

I am going to move this over to the warranty section just because it is going to be a warranty issue. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Hi there.
Sorry if this is an old thread, but I was searching about this problem and ended up here. I have a SC-15 that came back from EVGA a few months ago because of the same problem, after using it for less than a year, the battery expanded and I had to send it to a RMA. They sent me a new one and now the laptop is doing exactly the same thing. I can see the swollen coming up very slowly and gradually as days go by and I know what's gonna happen in the future. The keys get so low you can't even type properly and the computer starts to fail every now and then. My warranty expired last month, a few days ago actually. So what am I supposed to do now? A product that cost me £1.100,00 pounds. This is a problem that seems to happen quite often to people that owns the SC-15 and is happening to me for the second time in less than 2 years. I'm not a computer designer nor I ever worked with computer engineering but is clear to me that there is a flaw on the design of this model. The battery can't be removed, for some reason, this is what EVGA support told me. So we're stuck with an expensive product that will fail at least once before the warranty is over. And if you're unlucky like me, it will happen again just after the warranty expired. I'm very disappointed with all of this situation, as I really need this computer to work for another year at least and I know for sure that in a couple of months, maybe a bit more, it will start giving me problems again and I won't be able to use it anymore. Either not be able to sell it. So what I'm gonna do now? Why the battery can't be remove if is what's causing this problem? If anyone from EVGA is reading this, I'd like and appreciate an answer. And maybe a solution.
Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my EVGA SC 15. I went to HomeDepot and bought TORX screw driver and using that opened the back cover. (On the screen side marking are shown. Just put the driver inside that rubber long feet) Removed the swollen battery. We just need to pull it hard with force as it was glued hard. It started working well without battery, on power.

EVGA Will not help you, they'll tell you it's out of warranty and to get (removed). Worst customer service I've ever received. edit by Cool GTX TOS Violation removed - Inappropriate Language

You can replace it with a new battery or remove the swallon battery and use power (without battery) Directly.
