So, I just installed my RTX 3080 FTW 12GB that I got as an RMA replacement for a dead fan on the XC3 model.
 
 
It boots up, lasted about 30 minutes then black screen in first game.  Now its constant and doesnt even display a screen.  I reseated the GPU, disconnected my power cables and ensured all are seated firming.  Using 3 separate PCIE cables that came with my corsair 850watt psu.
I am using my onboard gpu to post this, because the replacement gpu is not showing a display.  The fans kick into 100% when the monitor turned off.  tested with 3 monitors, they all work, but none on the gpu.

gpu not even detected now.  Not showing up in bios, in software or device manager.

Have you tried another card? If you can get a screen I would say make sure all windows update, bios updates and driver updates are good on the system and all power cables are fully inserted. Then run DDU and uninstall all NVIDIA drivers to reinstall them. If still having issues it might need an RMA let EVGA know it’s a replacement card that you are having an issue with.

Yeah, the broken GPU they were replacing with this "new broken gpu"   The one with the dead fan works and it detected.   Its just missing a fan.   This gpu doesnt detect on anything  bios, software dxdiag.

IfI take the new GPU out of the pci slot and then reseat it, the gpu works, but soon as I fire up modern warfare Warzone 2.0 itll go black screen and not go back on for any reason, until I reseat it.  There is no sag, and I confirmed it works using the broken 3080 I will be sending back on Thursday or Friday.  None of the xc3 had this issue.   This is a completely new issue.

Dude. Just send the replacement card back, and keep your old card since you know it works, and just replace the fan. Doing rma's is getting you nothing but someone else's problem to deal with as you can clearly see.

ive never replaced fans on a gpu before and I dont want to risk losing a remaining 3 year warranty.   I should not have to spend $100 for a set of fans because evga cant set a working gpu.  And I dont know if there is other issues with the gpu, since the fan literally spun off the case.   I am so upset that EVGA cant just give me a properly working GPU.  I was told they would do extensive testing on the new GPU before sending it.  They clearly didnt, because I can reproduce the issue on the new gpu time and again.
 
 
I am on it now. no issues.  Soon as I fire up Warzone, black screen, and its dead to bios, and everything else until I take it off the board and put back on the board.
 
 
Telling me to just fix it myself and pay for some fans, I dont know how you got a moderator status with that type of advise, but I 100% disagree with the advise you are offering.
 
 
Sending a GPU that works the 1st time, would be the right thing to do.  I have had 3 xc3 with busted fan issues and now a black screen issue with the FTW.

If you're not comfortable replacing the fan yourself then take your card to a pc shop once you buy the fans, and have the shop replace the fans for you. Sending away a perfectly working gpu over a broken fan isn't the best idea since evga is no longer is in the gpu business.

Dude, of with telling me to fix it myself, I have a warranty for a reason.  You telling me to fix it myself and EVGA dont make gpus doesnt do any service to the company for standing by its product.  If they cant provide a working item, they should never have sold one.  You constantly telling me fix it yourself aint helping nothing.   I dont know if the fan is the issue on the old one, it could be more. than that and then what, I am still screwed.
 
 
The new one, I even undervolted 30%, i got 2 broken gpus sitting here evga is really screwing me over

and I hope EVGA team is seeing what type of moderator abuse you have here.  Hot shot starts antagonizing a person trying to resolve the issue, by trolling. Not a professional feeling to have moderators act passive aggressive like that.
 

By me telling you to fix it yourself I’m trying to save you a headache by endlessly going through more rma’s that may not get you anywhere, and you’ll lose the only working card you have which is the one with the broke fan.

The grinding is most likely coming from the damaged fan hub.
