Nvidia aren't stupid (but sometimes do seem ignorant at times). While I'm sure that the next 4000 series are on schedule I doubt Nvidia would do anything to stop the money train right now.
Example from one SKU alone, we're on the 8th month from the 3060 release and that card avg. price is still 200 over its supposed msrp of 329.

Just became an elite member today..is there anything I can do or not really ? How do I get in a queue ? If that's even possible. I'm just really excited and want to get a card, but I know it will be a while..looking for direction. Thank you.
No, the queues are locked until further notice. It will likely be 2022 before the 3070s, 3080s and 3090s are reopened, if they are ever reopened. The 3657 sku is moving briskly and may reopen at some point, but everything else...better keep trying Best Buy, Microcenter and Newegg...etc. etc.... Best of luck! In other news, Thor's Day. It would be great to get substantial drops across multiple SKUs' queues.... For me, personally, at this point...I'll take any drops to the KPE HC queue...even if it is Loki. (Narrator: that was horrible, even for an amphibian.) Best of luck! P.S. I made the mistake of queueing up only one card, the one I actually wanted at the time I chose: the 3080 FTW3 Hydro Copper. I haven't seen that queue budge an inch in like the last two months or so.
Do they actually plan on making many of these at all when they announce them? Or is it that they just make one batch up front and then you never see it again?
I should have also queued up for the 3080ti FTW3 Hydro Copper. I've seen that queue nudge forward a short distance several times. It would be pointless to queue up for it now of course. Honestly it would have been pointless then, too, as I queued up some three weeks after the start date, and in that time both the 3080 and 3080ti Hydro Copper queues have moved at most by minutes, rather than hours or, God help us, days. I may be wrong about the 3080ti - it's possible it's actually moved a day by now, who knows. I'm not counting on ever seeing this card, as I assume that by the time I get notified the whole next generation will have been released already.
I guess the lesson for me for the future is this: know about the releases ahead of time, have the browser up on release day, before it goes live, and then fight the server lag like crazy and get queued up in the first seconds after go-live, or just forget it. If they release a 3080 Super generation I'll give this a try, or else just remain content with my 1080ti (which I'm actually still very content with) until the 40*0 series.

So it sounds like the hybrids received some attention today (excluding the 3978, the 3080s, and -- of course -- the KPE). In other news, I'll be watching the Carly Lloyd's penultimate USWNT game tonight (in addition to Game 5 of the NLCS). I was in the stands for her 2015 WC performance in Vancouver and I have followed her career for more than a decade. I do not know of a harder working athlete in soccer, men's or women's. Fabrication Friday may bring a few stragglers, but I anticipate fewer than the last few Fridays have generated. I hope I am wrong. Finally, Legendary's DUNE movie drops tonight on HBO Max (and in a mostly abandoned theater near you); I will be doing a facetime watch party with my brothers...I am expecting an epic but mostly stoic linear experience that -- in the end -- leaves me wishing that Patrick Stewart could revive his role as Gurney Halleck. I think those of us after Hydro Copper cards are mostly out of luck, it doesn't seem like there was much supply to begin with, and of that supply a fair deal ended up with scalpers on Ebay (there are always half a dozen or more listings for these cards). In retrospect it seems that just queuing for just a standard FTW3 and putting a block on separately (albeit potentially warranty complications that causes) would be the best choice.
