so if you followed the previous rules and got a card, now it's "back of the line" for everything going forward? can anyone quantify deprioritization? do you get dumped to the bottom of the list from being a prior patron? or just knocked down a few pegs? do registered products offset your deprioritization? it all seems a bit vague on that point.

do registered products require invoice upload/approval to count for points? or just register? if the later I foresee some folks just grabbing random serials online to register phantom products that they don't really own.

That's a fair first reaction to reading this.  However, keep in mind that this still follows tier-by-tier priority.  If you are in a high tier of points, chances are, a lot of the people also in the queue with you also bought 30 Series cards and are in the same boat as you.  For the ones that have not purchased a 30 Series card, sure, they will get a quicker path to getting a card.  Eventually, everyone else in the queue in your tier will purchase a 30 Series product, and you will no longer be deprioritized and will now be ahead of people in lower tiers.

Registered products improve your score, but do not change the deprioritization.  Registered products must have an invoice uploaded to count, unless the product was purchased from EVGA.com.

I posted this comment in a follow-up response in an "old notifies" thread, but think it belongs here:

Generally, I think it is a good step to be more fair, but I'm confused because the value of registered EVGA products helps with your score, yet owning 30 Series cards depriorizes your position.  The top 300 highest scores exempt you from the ruleset for future launches, but for how long?  In perpetuity?  What is the rubric or scoring values for products, bucks, ribbons, and forum participation?

When the 3090ti KP is released, only time will tell how Elite members will upgrade to this new card without being de-prioritized.  Ideally, someone with many high-end cards, no 30-Series cards, top contributor with ribbons and bucks should have the highest score and exempt from the ruleset for a single "select" future launch?

Loyal customers that persevered, were patient, and had luck continually upgrading cards are de-valued for new customer sales fairness.  80-20 reaction due to the global situation: pandemic, mining, and scalping.

EDITED:  Clarified the high score exemption for a future single select launch.

@808sting:  According to https://www.evga.com/support/queue3/:
"*To celebrate EVGA Queue 3.0, the users with the 300 highest EVGA Scores will be exempt from this requirement [<font]for select future launches, beginning with the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB. These users may sign up for a notification and proceed without being deprioritized for a previous 30 Series purchase from EVGA.com. This offer is only good for one product/notification queue, and once the product is purchased it may not be used again."

So it seems like this is a one shot deal on "select" launches as chosen by EVGA.
As for the weight of the three aspects in scoring, I haven't a clue.  The top 300 may change as the scores will be reset at the beginning of each month.

You might want to start your own thread here https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-Warranty-Questions-f35.aspx as it is more appropriate for RMA questions.

I think these should be overall good changes? Time will tell I guess.  I do feel like compared to other companies EVGA just offering stuff like this during the chip shortage is a benefit.

Product registration page doesn't recognize some of my older AGP cards.  Keep getting a s/n, p/n do not match error.

I want to make sure my score is as good as possible.....

3Dfx Voodoo line, not nvidia/evga.  But certainly nostalgic.

Hello Everyone,

Today marks the beginning of EVGA Queue 3.0.  To learn more about it, please visit:

The queue is a joke, I been on it nearly a year and not been able to get any card, I'm sure I'm not the only one, and feel sorry for others in the same position, and to make it worse you keep changing the rules.

The queue is a feeble attempt to look good to the consumer while you are actually scalping the cards yourself, I know this because evga cards are often available in high qualities at official nvidia retailers over the past year at scalper prices.

All the manufacturers are scalping the cards, but evga is trying to look like the good guys that care about the consumer, but it's a lie.

If you care about your consumers then stop supplying cards to retailers and get through your own damn list, of course you won't do this because you don't want to lose out on the scalper market.

I remember being notified that non lhr cards weren't to be shipped anymore, and everyone would be moved to the inferior LHR card list, 1 month later pccomponetes had a ton of evga non LHR cards listed at scalper prices, why didn't these cards go to people waiting on the list for months and months?

Questions:
What if you purchased and registered a product, then later sold it and unregistered it? Does it still count?
How far back does this go? I have over 50 registered products showing, but some go back to early 2009...

Also I thought Elite members got advanced notice of new products.. I see there was a new 3080 12GB card released this morning but I knew nothing about it until just now (not that I was planning to buy one) ...or is that notice only for new product lines, so basically the next thing would be Z690 motherboard release, and then 40 series cards, etc.? ..or maybe I missed it in the 3.0 details. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First registered owner that uploads an invoice gets the points.  If you uploaded your invoice before unregistering it, then the points will count.  If the product was purchased from EVGA.com and registered, the points will count (invoice is optional for purchases from EVGA.com).  Points via registration count for 3 years from the purchase date.

Of course, if for some reason a user is the original owner and doesn't think they're getting credit for a registered product, feel free to contact Customer Service to check.

Elite members will usually get first chance at signing up for a notification, but we cannot promise advanced notice of products (no, there's nowhere near enough incentive for us to break embargo).  In this case, we did open the 3080 12GB notifications to Elite members, but we had a limited cap on notifications for the product, so it closed earlier than 24 hours.  I would not expect this to be the norm going forward for launches in 2022 and beyond.

Thanks Lee. Also, check your pm.

So I see a webpage saying this card is coming out.  I come over to EVGA's page and the auto notify is already disabled.  I would have thought that with Elite membership I would get at least an email announcing the upcoming release of the new card so that I could have a chance to sign up.  So much for brand loyalty.

Yea, the queue was opened this morning without any sort of notification and it's already full. Seeing how the old queue is taking 13 or so months for people to get called off of it, I don't see how this is suppose to work out any better for people.

I really don't see how scalpers/miners get these cards by the dozen but the same manufacturer can't supply enough cards to clear out the amount of orders that come in over 90 minutes.

This is the kind of stuff that gets me fired up. To begin, EVGA didn't HAVE to create a que at all. They could be like several other AIBs and just let you suffer through the endless cycles of the Newegg shuffle (Which I can only imagine the complaints about that one). Also, EVGA doesn't need to sell directly to the consumer, they could be like several other AIBs and not offer anything, as it has many other contracts that it must fulfil prior to supplying its own online retail store. It's the typical scenario I see in the classroom many days, the "I'm the victim" and ""I'm entitled to this" attitude. The que isn't perfect, nothing is. At least they're trying to get the cards out FOR MSRP where others have increased the prices significantly. EVGA posted about the increase due to tariffs last year and even honored the old price for a few extra months. All AIBs are suffering from the same shortages, as they do not make the actual GPU, that's NVIDIA and they're trickling out the chips to several manufacturers. Nothing myself nor anyone here can say anything to change your opinion, and that's fine. But coming in here and crying wolf just gets you no where. Nothing here will ever please EVERYONE.  Also, LHR cards perform the same in gaming, so not sure what that rant is about...

First of all thanks to evga for having the queue in the first place and for the great customer service over the years. With that being said, I thought the queue 2.0 was perfect and find the new system confusing and discouraging. I’ve already gotten what I was after so this is a mute point for me now, but I hope they change it back.

Simple, why sell you a card for retail when they can scalp it for way more.

Here for example, a card listed on evga website for 700 euros being sold by an official nvidia retailer for 1200 euros:

Why weren't these cards sent to people on the waiting list evga?

Do you know how many people can sign up in 90 minutes on the internet?
3.0 will get more current gen cards to gamers.  It makes it harder to get a second card of that gen, because you are now in the "already has a card" queue.
It's a more refined version of what they tried to do back in September.  Which the community opposed then because of how it was implemented.
If one of the upcoming cards is acceptable to you, join that queue and if you don't already have a 30xx card then you'll have a better chance of getting it than you will if you signed up for a 3881 in April 2021.

How do you know they got them from EVGA? Maybe there's a distributor in between? Also, I expect EVGA have some form of contractual obligations with a number of outlets/distributors, so they have to provide a certain volume or breach contract (I guess a % of production? dunno). Do you think EVGA are going to breach contract and shoot themselves in the foot for millions of dollars just because you want a card right now? They are still a business after all. Also realize that EVGA has ZERO say over what these outlets turn around and sell the cards for, and they have zero control over what NVidia supply to them when everything is tight as it is right now. I get your frustration, but calling EVGA a scalper is very VERY clearly as load of complete bs.

If you've been waiting a year and still haven't gotten a single card, you did several things wrong, like pick only the cheapest, most in-demand SKU's months after they came out, and didn't bother to sign up for backup cards like the 3060 XC Gaming, which you could have Stepped Up to your dream card.

I have to agree with nomoss.  The que isn't perfect, but they are trying. I'm not sure how many manufacturers/distributors people have worked/dealt with, but EVGA has always been one of the best.  Quick to respond and help out with issues.  The only other computer component companies I can think of with as good customer service are probably Noctua/Mushkin(does mushkin still exist?).  I base this on my personal experiences, but I'm pretty sure they are accurate.  EVGA cares and they know their customer base.

Kudos to them.

However, I've also seen the prices on the 2.0 graphics cards increase while I wait. That is very suboptimal, and I have been in the queue since before the import tax increase.

EVGA is an American company with factories in Taiwan, not the PRC.

If that's the case, then it's my mistake.

Re: EVGA Queue 3.0 (Beginning 1/11/2022) 2022/01/11 21:20:34 (permalink)
Just stopped by the site today after months waiting in queue to find out that there's a new Queue 3.0 launching tomorrow (no email notifying me this was happening, just dumb luck I stopped by). Saw the new 3080 12GB cards, went to add auto-notify, but the buttons are already "temporarily deactivated due to high demand"... how does an honest person ever find out about the hoops to jump through in time to sign up for the notice to get the notice about the queue to get in to get a notice to sign up for a lottery to get a card?! Sigh.

Being active on the forums helps build knowledge of how the company tends to do things.  EVGA has had limited time queues before.  Perhaps a signal that they are unsure of supply.  Nvidia stealth launched this card, but there were some news articles a couple days ago in Google News Technology.  You don't have to obsess all day but getting a card requires at least a little effort.

I've had surprisingly decent customer service from nearly all tech product manufacturers in the last 10 years.  I won't name names on who sucks here.  (gxxxbxxe)
Corsair has excellent customer service.  Wish my 23 RGB fan build could sync with EVGA.  (cough cough)

The last 3 years of registered products count apparently. I guess that's a rolling 3 years.

So torn. Opening up a spot in my queue means dropping one of the Black cards that I've grown so fond of looking at over the past 15 months, watching the queue not move a day as none have been shipped to anyone in that queue.   I know they are totally going to ship any minute now!  Any minute I say!

In all seriousness (and all selfishness), I would love to see them allow folks in the queue for product they obviously stopped making (or at least stop making for queue people) be able to swap to another queue for an existing product without having to go to the end of the line (not that you can even get in line).
