I'm guessing those are the new SSCs?  The new SSC and FTW+ have been reported to light up the SLI bridge.  This thread was created before the new cards were made.  The old 970s will not light up the SLI bridge.

Mine lights up fine on the 970 SSC. EVGA sli 2 card bridge and EVGA SSC 970s. If it makes a difference, I use it on the connectors to the inside of the card. Pics or no proof? Well, here you go. Shows they are 970SSC

Hold On!? Hold On!?....You're telling me that my EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 are old for this EVGA SLI Bridge and that's why it doesn't light up for me?
or is that my EVGA SLI Bridge I purchase when they came out is the problem!?

The 970, 970 SC, 970 SSC, and 970 FTW were not made with the part that was needed to light up the SLI bridge.  The new 970 SSC and 970 FTW+ now have the part needed and will indeed light up the SLI bridge.  So older 970 models don't get the LED while the new 970s do.

And the fact that EVGA made the SLI Pro Bridge way before the 970's, ain't that some bull****!

Yep, mine are the new SSCs the 3975s. Something to be on the look out for in the future then. Good to know.

EVGA made an oversight. It happens. They are supposedly working on something new at this time.

They corrected the oversight with the 2 newest cards. They acknowledged the oversight. It's unfortunate, but for the same of being open minded to mistakes, the pro SLI shows it will work with the 700 and titan series. At least they didn't, and still don't, advertise it to work with any 900 card. That would be frustrating.

That depends on your definition of advertising. Jacob made this post back in Sept but then retracted it later in November it looks like. I remembered reading it and using that as an assurance that they would work. I didn't think about having to go back and check on the post regularly to make sure it wasn't inaccurate. So I bought them and they don't work.

edit: and while I know the thread wasn't asking about the 970, the EVGA LED bridges were working fine on MSI and ASUS 970s so there was no reason to think they wouldn't do the same on EVGAs 970s.

That is advertising.

Yes, Jacob made a mistake. It happens. He isn't an engineer. It happens.

I guess I feel a bit differently then. When a question about a product is posted on the official message boards of a manufacturer and an official rep for that manufacturer confirms they work then I consider that advertising. If that's not the case then there shouldn't be an official comment on the matter from anyone at EVGA.

Sorry I guess I'm just really frustrated at this point with my new build that I have been piecing together over the last few months. I went with 2x 970s to break into 4k gaming, I went with EVGA cards because of the excellent service history, I bought the back plates because I like a nice streamlined look and I bought the EVGA bridges because I wasn't a fan of the nvidia bridges and wanted the EVGA LED's to match my cards. Well 4k gaming is crap in a few games due to the ram issue and my bridges don't function as I expected(yah i know first world problems). My only option is to step up to a 980 which I could afford to do with one possibly in the next month or so, leaving me with 2 back plates and 2 bridges and 1 970 as paper weights.

+1  exactly the same as you bud they offered me a step up but like you say

leaving me with 2 back plates and 2 bridges and 1 970 as paper weights what a waste for us just to add to this a big argument with 4k monitor just to actually go with 1440 dell cause of the gpus , thanks next time more research and maybe different manufacturer

I think it's only the new cards, the SSC and the FTW+. I have the SSC the 3975, and it lights up the bridge.

It's like placing sprinkles on a turd. I don't know why folks are so annoyed that the ugly bridge doesn't light up with their card.

It was an oversight on EVGA's part. You could easily correct the oversight yourself with some basic tools and electrical skills. But why even waste the time?

Just received my SLI bridge. Knowing that it wouldn't light up with my 970's, I still wanted the EVGA logo. HOWEVER, it seems as if EVGA redesigned the bridge. It now has a reflective strip where the logo used to be. I thought I got a bootleg bridge and called the website that I bought it from to yell at them. While I was on the phone, I noticed an imprint on the underside of the reflective strip. I think it acts as a two-way mirror. Now I have no lights or logo!

Unfortunately the NVIDIA SLI bridge will not light up on 970 either, 970 does not support the LED function on SLI bridges.

Are you talking about the earlier version of the EVGA SLI bridge?

Yes you can see working on other brands because of the pcb they used. Lots of the 970s use 980 pcbs. Best buy reference version, msi, strix, etc. If your 970 uses a reference 980 pcb or has the same pcb as a non ref 980 it will light up.

This is an old thread created before the new SSC or FTW+ was made.  I brought it to eVGA's attention and now the newer cards have the LED SLI bridge feature.  This was discussed in the thread already that the new cards have the feature.

Thread resurrection time!  The new bridges have WRGB LEDs, all colors will run off ATX 5v except for the white whitch needs around 7v.  The Orange lead is your positive and the colored wires correspond to each LED ground color... Just run the leads of black/red 5v molex connector.  For white connect to yellow (12v) and red (5v) for 7v.

Tested and applied hack with my dual 970's when i plugged it in and realized it did not work and was overrun with sadness lol. I can solder it back together the way it was if i ever want to use it with future cards.
