EVGA Precision X1 Update File opening error

Every time I update EVGA Precision X1 I get this stupid error Saying "Error opening file while writing". I don't understand why i keep getting this error every time I update this horrible software, Why can't EVGA get it together ? I have been getting the same error for about a year now and I am so damn frustrated. I have attached a screenshot showing the error.

    There a problem you may have too many Precision X1 Sever running background that happen fail install cos it still running background... 
    Go open your Windows Task Manager > Processes see below list for PrecisionX1Sever.exe so force this to stop 'End Task' it might be more than one so force all End Task PrecisionX1Sever.exe only
    Then try reinstall your EVGA Precision X1!

    Be sure to close all open programs running in the Task Bar and Notification/System Tray area before installing Precision X1..Then try again.

    That didn't work, I'm still getting the same error.

    I am also getting this type of error when trying to run the software.

    Try uninstalling the previous version first before you install the new one.

    The PX1 uninstall.exe should be in the Program Files\EVGA\Precision X1 folder..No?
     
    See How Do I Troubleshoot Precision X1 Issues? in the EVGA FAQs..Right-click installer to install and run as administrator?
     
    Exactly what version of Windows are you using?..Still stuck on PX1 v1.1.0.11 or what?

    It wasn't.. which was really strange.  so I copied all the files I luckily had from another computer running the same software into my folder - and it uninstalled/then updated fine (but it lost my presets :( )

    That's what I was gonna suggest, or provide the uninstaller to you on my OneDrive page.

    You'll find the settings/presets located in the user.cfg file located in the C: (or whatever drive PX1 is on)\Users\Username\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd folder..The AppData folder is normally hidden so you'll have to set Windows folder view options to "Show hidden files, folders, and drives"..Then you can make a copy of the user.cfg and keep it somewhere so if you ever lose your custom settings you can just paste it back in to get them back again instead of having to redo things.

    I guess we kinda hijacked this thread long enough now.
