I thought that chip could do 5ghz at 1.3v according to Steve at GamersNexes. I do
override on my voltages, and i noticed even mine at 1.275v, i some reason drops to
1.19v in CPU'z, but shows 4800mhz in core speed. 

Where you finding the info on Jays?  I did a search, no dice...

So, the tweaking is complete, can't really get more from skylake x than a nice all core 4.8ghz, and with
16 timings at 4000mhz, and a nice 1.2v on cores, its pretty damn stable. Unless i can sqeeze more from 
it, let me know. And even with the 2070super FTW3, 10 core offset, and 7600 mhz mem, i'm gonna just
enjoy it, and let it run.

This board is not equipped with Trusted Platform Module. This sounds like something is set up in Windows that is searching for that component but our board simply does not have it. Did this copy of Windows happen to be on another motherboard/platform?

Well, scoring about a 62 for Aida64 in a latency test. cache is 32 on mesh, 4000 mhz at 16  16 16 36, stable at 4800.

If you don't mind me asking, what Motherboard and memory are you using?
 
I have the X299FTW-K and G.Skill, Trident Z RGB F4-4000C15Q-32GTZR Memory, and I only can set my memory to 3800MHz. My system will crash at 4000Mhz, even at stock settings... My memory settings are at [link=mailto:15-16-16-36@3800MHz]15-16-16-36@3800MHz[/link], 1.43 volts, seems to be very stable. But set it at 4000Mhz, and all falls apart.

That's what I thought you would have is a Dark, apparently the FTW-K will not support most 4000MHz memory.... or that is what EVGA Support said..

Also, one thing i don't understand is: why can the regular I9's 9900k or 10900k sit at 5ghz, with no
effort, but on the X299, the chips need a lot of juice or cooling to get 5ghz, when its the same damn
silicon, being Skylake.

I always hear the Dark was souly used for benching, and testing, and the ftw was used for actual
use, however i got the Dark cuz i knew it would have a beefy power stage. and can run chips at
higher clocks with memory like Kinpin who was behind the design of this board.

X series is using the server design with AVX512 and mesh interconnect as well as 2 more memory controllers so it is a much more complex design.

Anyone here have recommendations on where to start with my 10980XE and X299 Micro motherboard?
 
Last CPU I OC'd was my 9900K in my laptop which was easy, just increase multipliers and adaptive voltage offset LOL. 

Going to try this.

Also, what is the mesh can people get away with for a 24 hour run? i seen some get as crazy, as
35 on the 30980x

Just got my custom loop up and running and was able to finally tame the temps on the 10980xe on x299 dark.
 
2x EK 360mm rads, with an RTX 3090 XC3 ultra on the loop too.
 
4.9ghz all core with volt override at 1.243, Ram at 4000mhz 16-16-16-37-1T, AVX offset zero, Mesh at 32. CPU can go higher but temps get insane due to exponential voltage requirements.
 
Was previously on a 280mm CLC just on the cpu was was only able to do 4.7ghz at 1.20v override for daily, temps were out of hand if higher .
 
My mystery atm is that i left Intel TVB 3.0 running and HWinfo says that even tho my cpu is ratio limited to 49x on all cores it logs as hitting 5.43ghz on all cores over time. Idk if its a wrong reading or just a very limited and sporadic single core boost behaviour on light loads. When i give it more juice with 1.26v instead of 1.24 it logs as hitting 5.6ghz on all the cores... ****...

As a baseline i started with Luumi's settings. Apart from the previous settings posted here are the rest i have on my daily driving profile for all core 4.9:

Edit: found it easy to go higher with not much temp increase if i disable Hyperthreading. Had some fun with it like that at 5.0 for a little bit.

So, i was able to boot at 5Ghz, with a 1.98v and 1.3v core, seemed stable on Aida64 stress, Prime 95, blend,
a few games, and with an avx offset of 1 the Cinabench R15 run with 80c, but in R20 or 23,  lockup, but near
end of tile render, So I might be getting closer to stable , but temps are like: high, in the mid 80's near 90c.
 
So looks like 49 is where its at with a 360 ASIO, and 5 looks to be done , but with open loop water. But weird, in
games, seems to hover in the mid 50's for temps, and Aida, and Prime near 70c.
 
Edit:::::     Ok good news, running 5ghz no crashes, passes all tests including tile renders, and games run good, and even 
prime 95 , and aida runs are stable. Great to see this, but had to push vin to 2.1v, 1.33v core.  and seems to fix it, temps on
a full tile render seem to sit at 80c a brief 90c and hovered at 85c.  And idle at 39c, so whatever i did seem to make it work. 
Thought these chips were blast furnaces at 5 ghz, but mine seems rock solid.
 
Safe to run 2.1v vin?
