Argh, my laptop is now bricked. Stopped at 0xC59000 at 76%.
As long as you don't turn it off, you should be able to close the command prompt window and start the process over again. The changes don't actually take effect until the laptop is restarted. If it locked up during the process, though, that is a problem. As the instructions state, make sure that the laptop is reset to factory defaults to reduce the chances of instability causing a lockup during the flash process.

If you flashed the newer BIOS, we don't expect you to have issues with it, especially if you haven't seen any problems by now. You may flash back if you wish, but please don't feel obligated or worried enough to do so.

Is this new update coming soon? I am stuck on 1.03 with the black screen upon boot up problem that was affecting many people. 1.04 is reported to have fixed this problem, but I'm unable to download it.

I think they are waiting for Intel to issue the updated patch, since the one Intel released a couple of days ago is for skylake.

What about the SC15? I installed BIOS v 1.04 12/2017 and my machine is still vulnerable to Spectre. Please advise.
Although the EVGA patch was working fine on most machines, Intel advised to pull the patch and wait for updated one. EVGA is waiting for the updated patch to release the bios update.

Will the next BIOS update for the SC15 also address fan noise. They run constantly, even when the machine is at < 40 degrees with downclock set.

I am confused, is 1.06 Bios for the 1070 model the updated microcode? The BIOS date is from before Intel announced the new update patch.

I don't think that the Spectre update is in BIOS version 1.06. EVGA posted the first Spectre update in BIOS version 1.04. Then EVGA pulled v 1.04 down because Intel or someone told them it was an issue. Then version BIOS version 1.06 was released to fix the black screen bug which had been previously included in the version 1.04 BIOS. So, in summary, I think version 1.06 is just the same as version 1.03 (no Spectre update) except for adding the black screen fix.

Can we get an update on the progress please? I'm sitting here with a 1070 that crashes every time i reboot because windows 10 wants to install feature update v1709 but it's clearly not compatible with my currently outdated bios. Thanks.

Please note that there is a link error on the EVGA support/download site, Select "other", and use the drop down menus to select 'laptop', '758-41-2633', list the BIOS updates. Now, follow the "Notes" link for the Windows 10 64 bit version, and it will take you to the Win10 32bit version, and vice-versa. Thankfully, the bios updater recognized that the incorrect version had been installed, and did not brick my laptop. Second link error, same page. The download links for Win10 64 bit and Win10 32 bit are the same. (links removed because I'm too new)

fwiw, just used the latest update on mine the update applied fine, meltdown and spectre both show green (prevented) however, precision X mobile has fits with just about every version of it (starting with 1.0.3 which was on my machine before the bios updates began) - constantly locks up**, none of the profiles make sense - e.g. many cpu core entries are set to values like 0 or -15000, half of the profiles can't even be edited, like the first 'custom' one on the right hand side, and switching from normal to SC actually decreases clock speeds and doesn't turn on the fans... Same behaviours whether using 1.0.3, 1.0.8, or 1.0.9 of PXM ** Edit: by locks up, I mean the entire machine / screen / mouse freezes and needs a hard reset.. as a result I don't even have it running on startup anymore as it can freeze during that too

109 version of what? Latest bios is 1.0.7 It wasn't working for me with any version of PXM (including 1.0.9). I downgraded the bios again to 1.0.3 and now PXM seems to work again. Unfortunately the reasons I wanted to be off of 1.0.3 appear to be back again too. So when there is a working updated bios/pxm combo for sc17 4k (w/gsync) I'll try again but until then I'm staying with last year's software.

Same here, I just flashed to 1.07, precision x mobile doesnt work. Flashed to 1.06, still doesnt work. Tried reinstalling it with restarts inbetween EDIT: And now wont work with 1.03. Guess I'll go back to 1.07 and try TS

TS works great, but the only thing missing would be fan control or fan boost option.
