I RMA’d my 3090 FTW3 Ultra for a refund after becoming a victim of the famous Red Light of Death and seeing other peoples’ replacement cards also failing in the forums. So I’ve been without a card now since 11/11/20. I had sold my 2080ti Ultra Hybrid after installing the new card, then when it died after only a few days, I was left without a GPU (except for integrated graphics). What’s a couple of more weeks at this point.

This scares me to death lol. Waiting for my KPE purchase email to come through as well. I held on to my FTW3 Ultra 2080 Ti just in case i have any issues. Probably give it a solid week of running the KPE before i let the 2080 Ti go. I have decided if i do have any issues that result in a RMA i'm just going to ask for the refund and keep the 2080 Ti till at least middle of next year to see if things iron out or ill just wait for next Gen cards.

This is exactly my plan as well. I still have my 2080Ti and I'm actually not even sure I'm going to let it go. It has 10 years of warranty . May build another PC or build one for my brother. I have faith in this KPE card/PCB.

I don't know if this helps, but here's my time spy score. Set to OC bios, but I think normal was pretty much the same.

Which 2080ti has a 10 year warranty? AFAIK, EVGA GPUs have a 3 year warranty.

The one I added an additional 7 years of extended warranty for $60.  EVGA 2080 Ti Black. The budget 2080 Ti.... Still runs great, I can't complain.

You guys have the right plan. Don’t be like me and think: “the earlier I sell my 2080ti, the more money I’ll get on eBay. I mean what could go wrong? I just got my shiny new 3090. Nothing could go wrong now, right?”

Wrong. Not a good approach at all. 😝

I would hang onto your 2080ti’s until the 4090 series comes out. And then add a few extra years to that.

I'm in the same boat, but selling my existing system as a whole to a client of mine who has been asking me about it since I built it a little over a year ago. I'm torn between making him wait until I can get a KPE and 5950x and risking him changing his mind, or just sell the whole thing now, and run my triple monitors off a laptop w/ a dock until I can build my new rig.

That's such a tough call bro-ham, you could go either way on that but i think the safe play would be to hold on to it till you get the KPE in for a week, maybe 2. I'm in that boat with you too, I have my 2080 Ti "sold" to a good friend and he wants it now lol but i have told him he is waiting for my KPE to arrive before he gets it and even at that he is going to wait an extra week to make sure my KPE runs right before he gets it. Might make him wait 2 weeks just to be sure LoL.

My 3090 kingpin keeps failing to update the firmware so tech support suggested RMA. Anyone have any thoughts on troubleshooting? Reinstalled precision, drivers, the card itself. Tried running in safe mode. Swapped power cables...

Is there a XOC Bios for the KP Edition?

Have to say, not very happy with the KP at all. It doesn't overclock as high as the FTW3 Ultras I have here running on air.

Am I missing something? The hardware revised. I think I'm using the most recent X1. I reinstalled Nvidia drivers (clean install).

It has more cores, so it's just not going to get as much of an OC.

I didn’t realize the KPE GPU had more cores. I thought all the 3090 GPUs were the same as far as CUDA core count is considered.

CPU: Intel 19-12900K

You are correct, they do have the same number of cores. The biggest differences are in the components and higher guaranteed boost clock.

Maybe it is the optimist in me (I've been called worse), but I read Jacob's correspondence as suggesting that the balance of the folks who have successfully submitted auto-notifies (i.e., all 108 souls (as opposed to bots) on our google docs list) would receive an "invite to purchase" email in December.  I true optimist in me thinks that those emails will be transmitted before December 25.

At least Jacob said mid December it kinda restored hope but dose anyone have a link for conversation?

first group, does not necessary mean all people who signed notification.

[Dear EVGA Auto-Notify Gurus, please don't prove me wrong.  Yours truly, enewt]

Well if  I ever get a chance to buy one ill be using your code man !
