In theory, we moved 3 down in the queue. Would we expect anybody getting a card this week to have an email by now? or is this a slow rollout over the week?

For all you haters out there that said 2022 wasn't going to see a new GPU when I said 2021 was half way through the lifespan of the 3xxx series and $2500 bucks for a year old GPU when a new card would replace it in a year is whack:

"NVIDIA has finally unveiled a brand new GPU roadmap which confirms that its next-generation successor to the Ampere GPU will arrive next year in 2022. In addition to that, the roadmap also shows what's coming next in regards to future ARM-based CPUs and DPUs."



That $2500 bucks can be saved for next years GPU's. If they call my number soon I'll bite but if this goes on too long, I'm gonna passvious

But seriously, you're assuming you can manage to get a 40 series card next year. I'm a little concerned that the situation won't be much better. Maybe mining will have died down at least. But the scalper problem may only get worse.

So Talon, is this the new queue for the 4k series cards, then?  Hahaha..... had to.  Seriously though, you can look at this in one of two ways:  1. Wait a year(?) as Toieo suggests.  Save the $$$, use whatever GPU you have now.   2.  Wait a little longer from now and purchase the 3k series card you're waiting for and use it until the 4k series rolls around, which, at this point is no guarantee at all.  I'm with you as far as the situation on the production situation now and moving forward through the rest of this year.....Nvidia can't even get all the 3k series cards out the door yet; Waiting for the NEXT GPU?  Go for it, but that's a LOT of time that could be spent playing games (and/or whatever else you use a GPU for).  It reminds me of the old saying about a bird in the hand is worth sniping in a bush at 4k, 100fps...... wait, that's not right.   A Kingpin in the hand is worth a bunch of birds......ah hell, nevermind.   I'd rather play now and all the days until we get to do this queue thread thing again in a year (or likely more).   I was told that I was a fool for spending the money on a 2080ti since the 3k series was around the corner.  I've played a LOT of games over the last year and a half, and I'm still getting some great play time while I wait for the King.  It *WAS* a "gamble", but it paid off.....and I didn't have nearly as much information at hand about where the next year was  headed as we do now.    Seems like an easy decision to me, but I'd understand, somewhat, if someone chose to wait.... 

I get what you're saying and for people who can buy a card every single generation at the 2000+ price point, sure go for it... For the rest, these cards are not cheap. They cost 4 times what some people pay for their entire computer.
 
2 years for 2000 bucks or 1 year for 2500 bucks? Those that buy later get a way more rotten deal and it makes much more financial sense to wait and put that money toward the next thing.
 
All in all, I'm pissed about the wait, don't blame EVGA, and am torn.
 
The question becomes, will my 2060 XC Ultra hold out for 18 months considering the games I play? If your GPU is junk sure go for it.. if you're like me at the 1660ti/2060 level, it's MUCH more difficult to justify the cost.

Oh god!  I'm #11 and no notify.  Moooooooom!

It seems that the "limited" drops per Jacob's tweet is at least 4 cards...this is the worst drops for the KPE to date.

Here I was half excited that at #19 i had a good chance of it before the price increase :(

Be patient.  Sometimes the releases are slow.  I wouldn't normally expect a drop on Monday.  This could also be left over stock they held for RMAs so we have to take that into consideration.  I'm not saying this is a returned item, just that EVGA I believe holds back some stock so that if RMA issues come up they can send out replacement items in a timely manner.  The timing based on the limited release info we have would point to the start of a new batch of stock but there could be other reasons why a limited release in small numbers happened.  
 
Either way, I'd be looking for more drops this week or in the coming weeks as if this was from stock being held for possible RMAs they wouldn't release it until they knew they had an immediate drop coming soon.

As much as I would love a KPE, I'm probs gonna go for like an FTW3 or a Strix or even an FE. I had a Strix in my cart last night on Amazon but I had the wrong credit card in so I got screwed over.

You have to do what you gotta do.  I would stay away from the FE if possible.  The strix card is a great alternative.  if you cannot or don't want to wait then you gotta do what you gotta do.  Nothing said here is going to make EVGA send more cards our way.  As much as people don't want to wait, there really is no other option if you consider that the Kingpins are only sold through their elite program.  It's not even a question of sending more units instead of selling to resellers.  All Kingpins available come through the queue. 
 
It seems like 3-4 months is long, but there are some also in the regular queues or step up program that have been waiting since September who are still waiting.  It is of little true value other than the glass could either be half empty or half full depending on your perspective. 
 
I am still over 3-4 months of wait time before I realistically think I'll be getting a notify for my Kingpin.  I honestly thought when I signed up back at the end of January that it would be around April/May when I got my chance to buy one based on the numbers in the self reported queue.  But here I am 2 and half months later and don't anticipate getting one anytime soon.  
 
Best of luck in your decision.  I would still hold your spot in the queue even if you get something in the meantime.  You already waited this long.

JacobF has alerted the EVGA forums that the grandfathering of 2020 prices for those in the queues prior to January 11 will now expire on May 14th, not on April 16th as originally announced.

So, for those that have been waiting since 2020, we get about a month’s extension on the grandfathered prices.
 
As much as I am annoyed by this whole thing, I continue to feel that EVGA is trying their best in the midst of a technology launch debacle not of their own making.

There was a price hike scheduled for this week and they pushed it back a month. It had nothing to do with supply itself.
 
If I'm being positive about things, I see it as a good sign. Perhaps they're expecting supply in the next month and they can fulfill some orders that would have otherwise taxed their client base. In essence "trying to do right by the customers".
 
Still business is in business to make money. At the end of the day, this is a PR move that will undoubtedly work in their favor. "Remember that time when there was massive GPU shortages and price's went up and EVGA did this and this and this." It's smart, a good move, and will guarantee future business because reputation is everything.

Just received my KingPin.  I chose UPS Worldwide Saver for shipping.  For all the Canadians out there waiting for the KingPin, there are no duties, but you have to pay the provincial sales tax plus the UPS brokerage fee.  I paid $10.00 CAD for the UPS brokerage fee plus the provincial sales tax.
